drag them ,massive oppar
It’s causing me everything not to tag them users so much
I had to read this many times and I’m not sure what you mean
Fans would literally wish their faves' songs would "flop" like ON. Until another group gets top 10 songs on the Korean charts, BTS doesn't have any competition. Even if they have super high album sales, the Korean public/industry won't recognize them as a top group if the country doesn't know their songs.
I mean because On is so different compared to anything else they have done before, it not hit as hard than usual generic pop music. That's why it is not as popular as Dynamite.
I agree it’s not generic but On was the peak at that time in America. It’s also had a whole album to compete with and corona. I would not refer it to as a flop.
Well depends where do you compare. If you compare to BWL that have over 18m or Dynamite 17m Youtube likes. On still have only 9.5/10m likes on Youtube. It was definitely not as strong single as those two songs.
Not a flop by any means tho.
I did not say it flop. I said it "flop".
"Don't call me oppa" - JK
To be honest, kpop stans better stop using sentences like "BTS and XXX global groups" if they dont want to be hit over the head with receipts. Same goes for the companies. BTS is on another level and its not debatable.
Maybe they could do a very simple test: whenever they feel like posting "BTS and XXX" they could replace it with "Taylor and XXX" and check if it makes any sense.
BTS and their competition
i think a big reason why ON underperformed for BTS standards was the comeback schedule.
I don't know why some acted like ON flopped. Lol
It did fine. Some groups wished they could have succes of ON.
Too many things happening at the same time
ON had shitty timing and did not enjoy the same level of after-release promos that BWL had. ON was supposed to be promoted very hard, especially since we had a stadium tour and everything set up. What we got was a pandemic and a few music shows with no public, when people were peak-panicking.
I will forever be salty that the masterpiece that is MOTS7 got lost in all this mess. What was supposed to be an amazing 7-year celebration ended up with a cancelled stadium tour.
I loved ON tbh, i'd put it in my top 10 favourite BTS songs. It's just the timing that was unfortunate, also music videos were very long and fandom was confused which one was the "real" one, perhaps that's why it had lower yt views.
