kboos portrait a distorted view of the cute side of Korean idols and drama characters.

if learning Korean is being a kboo, just call foreign english speakers as English or American Boo from now on.

what the girls were saying is that being a kpop fangirl and having a korean boyfriend automatically makes one a kboo, even if they BOTH kpop fans and genuinely fell in love, is that true?

no... people throw around that word way too loosely. i only consider LEGIT koreaboos people who legit want to be korean or pretend to know a lot about korea and kculture when they don't/catfish as korean people online when they're not. people who act like they know korean by saying a few korean words randomly teeter in this territory too. but just being interested in korean stuff is NOT a kboo.

    i guess people overanalyse everything.

    and no i don't think it's being a kboo.

but if the person fetishizes asian people, then you have a problem.

    1., 2. & 4. I'd say no
    3. hm depends on why he's your boyfriend, if you ran after him just because he's korean and you see him as your kpop idol/oppar/whatever yes but if he's just a person you really like who happens to be korean then no

Been reading a lot of manhwas lately and my choice of food has also been korean. A new Suzy kdrama is now up on Netflix and knowing myself Im surely gonna indulge again. And of course some of my spotify playlists are kpop. Heck even my skin care routine along with some products are korean made.
Korean culture is one of the most fun lifestyle to follow these days I guess.

Not at all! A lotttt of kpop fans learn choreographies (myself included), I've even signed up for weekly kpop dance classes. Learning another language and liking food from another country is definitely not koreaboo behaviour. As for your boyfriend, if you genuinely love him for his personality, not his race, then there isn't a problem.

If you were doing all this due to an obsession with korean culture or because you wanted to be korean, then THAT would be kboo behaviour. But it doesn't sound like you are so you have nothing to worry about~ :3

1,2 and 4: Nope! Dancing, learning a language and eating good food are all productive things!
The only iffy thing about 3 is if you're dating him only because he's korean.
