Nah, i think AIIYL is still bigger hit than LSG. There are a lot of factors that affect the charts. LSG might stay longer than AIIYL in top 10, but you have to know that this year, not only LSG that stay like more than 10 weeks inside melon top 10 or gaon top 10, there were A LOT of songs that did that, it's because of the new system and also because of the competition. Because of the new system, a lot o new songs couldn't reach the top. Making the old songs stay longer inside top 10. I mean, just look at how weak the chart is right now.
But both are doing very well and both are huge hits for me, my top 2 Blackpink's songs

 

I think HYLT is bigger too. HYLT managed to win SOTM on Gaon. At the time it was the first idol song to do that since DDDD in 2018. Not even Hip, Dalla, BWL, Psycho managed to do this. 16 weeks in top 10, also 3 weeks as the undisputed #1 song in Korea. And now, it's still a top 30 song after 28 weeks. It has both longevity and a massive peak.

If it cross 5 million ULs, then yes

Edit: It has only 2.8 million so far, I don't think it will cross this number. HYLT is closer with 3.8 million and has high chances of crossing 5 million some day in future

HYLT has 118.3 million
LSG has 65.8 million

I don't think number of weeks on top 10 is a good metric. Chart positions are relative

I couldn't agree more, people use number of weeks in top 10 or x rank too often but at the end of the day only streams and overall index matter. Though one thing, lsg is actually at 75m streams on melon which I assume is what you were referring to

LSG and HYLT being at 2.8M and 3.8M respectively is a month old. They did that in 2 months and under 6 months. Unless they completely collapse (which is unlikely), both of the songs will reach 5M ULs. AIIYL and PWF had 3-4 years to reach that mark. It’s really unlikely that both of these songs that are already that high with recent releases and maintaining great longevity won’t reach 5M.

It might be more difficult in the new era, because melon is losing popularity while spotify is coming to Korea. Nonetheless, LSG performed quite good. It is definitely up there just behind HYLT and DDDD

Genuine question : can we really consider weeks inside top 10 of melon to determine whether a song is hit or not when it's a bit easy to stay in top 10 because of chart reform. Again this applies for all the groups and not just bp.

 

which ones? all i can think of is BTS and blackpink and one or two other songs.
iirc baek yerin, akmu etc reach the top 10 but fell out equally as quick
plus SMTM songs have been jamming up the top 10 the last few months... i dont think the charts are weak a all, just the performance of kpop itself. rap (SMTM) and osts and bts+bp are doing well

 

Its not a national hit... if it was you'd know it by now... however it is a hit song and korea seems to be loving it...
