Like many people above me have said: it depends. I personally don't get involved in the toxic part of the community and I rarely encouter problems with other fans. Even on Twitter (only had one argument and it wasn't even about Kpop. And they only replied to me once before they gave up). I do see a lot of other people get into arguments or fights though. Or I hear from other peoplr that someone said something hurtful and/or disrespectful.
So in general I would say no.

if you're here to argue and debate all the time, then yeah KPOP community sucks

but if you're here to spread the love and sharing songs, funny things thats just KPOP has...its a fun place to be

oh i've been attacked here and there but I don't give a rat ass about those trolls

Nope. I'd never even heard of a 'fan war' until delving into the k-pop community.

The fierce, obsessive, and endless competition -- between both fans AND performers -- is sickening, and fully encouraged by the twisted k-entertainment machine.

I've never seen anything like it, and it's the reason I have never encouraged anyone I know to check out the k-pop scene.

I think OH is a lot better thanks to better moderating and the deletion of the bash thread. Twitter is a bit hit and miss but if you just keep to the official accounts you should be ok. I never read comments on Youtube or anything so don't know about that and don't use Instagram.

To an extent, both. It really depends what type of people and social media you use. Twitter is a pretty dangerous place in general.
As for people's tastes being bashed, I see that everywhere, whether it be IG or Twitter. For example, people who like EDM get bashed all the time. Personally, it's not my type of music, but I don't see the need for people to get hated on for liking a genre. It's not that deep, it's music.
There will always be fanwars which is unfortunate. As for competition, a little bit of competition isn't bad, but in the kpop community there's really no "friendly" competition. It's mostly just "my faves won, yours are flops" which is pretty unnecessary and irritating.

Based on my experience, it really depends.
Since I dont have kpop friends irl, i found some friends online and I share same kpop interest wth them. We as a group actually ignore and dont focus a lot on the toxic side of Kpop. And we do things together and share our problems and cheer each other up. I do think that if it does good, i think it is nice to be in Kpop community xD

I expected it to be a good place, but I was wrong. It’s worse in online communities than in real life but even in real life it can be...difficult

    friendly? yeah sure.

    healthy?

    NO.
sometimes i regret starting to stan groups instead of listening casually simply because of the sheer toxicity of fandoms.

    It's definitely not healthy.
I enjoy discussions and there's no doubt I enjoy some drama. That being said, most healthy discussions are only healthy until you say something that isn't a popular opinion or may seem negative against someone's group. Then all shit breaks lose and you start drama.

It's toxic cause everything is a competition on who is more popular, who sells more, who is more talented...etc

    You are a good person.
Lately I have been hearing lots of rude and even racist incidents in kpop concerts especially if k and intl side collide. The fansites are inconsiderate and people even get bruised and told to shut up.

The community can be either toxic or peaceful as you allow it to be.

But as a whole, this community is toxic. Within the internet and outside the internet, amazingly (but not too surprised).

Depends on where you spend your time at. And who you spend your time with. I know it can be fun to wander into the dark alleys (aka the toxic Twitter side etc.), adrenaline and all that stuff but if you in their thats honestly also your own fault.
