People often forget that idols are human too, and have experienced a lot of hardships before making it big. What are some groups, idols, or entertainers that have gone through a lot of hardships before debuting?

How is she a refugee when her family has so much money? And who would want to go to Kuwait(unless they are very wealthy?)?

    she lived there
    war came
    she left.

A refugee, generally speaking, is a displaced person who has been forced to cross national boundaries and who cannot return home safely (for more detail see legal definition).

i can't remember her name, but there is a pretty known japanese singer that lost her mother and foster parents at a very young age. She was signed as an enka prodigy, but after her album didn't sell she was let go, so she started performing her own songs on street corners. she gives a lot of time and money to help kids in poverty, so i wish i could remember her name.

Rain pulled himself out of poverty. His father's business failed and the family went bankrupt, as a result the father left the country to find work, leaving the mother to take care of Rain and his sister. Rain's mother suffered from diabetes and was lacking in medical attention and insulin. Rain managed to debut into a band, but it failed and he went to several entertainment companies, only for them to say he was too ugly. J Y Park took him on and he was a trainee at JYP Ent, but he was still poor and before he could make his debut his mum died due to her diabetes.

I'm not entirely sure on this one but I think the song "To my mother" by G.O.D is a true story of one of the members,
