Pls london has a lot of great places to flim
I just misread ooos
Maybe I'm biased but
I didn't mention anything about London not have great places to film. I said there isn't much opportunities to film in Europe, so probably the preference for London as a choice is low for Korean producers for whatever reason.
Ah I misinterpreted, but I mean like
Itzy for example did an entire series on them chilling in paris, twice & red velvet both also went to a european place, (I forgot where)
Anyways, as ppl said, it's probably due to price.
I don’t think idols are that hyped about London anyway. When superm did their tour this year, they talked a lot about Paris and posted a bunch of photos from there on their igs, and nothing about London rippp
I live and work in central London so views a bit skewed but it doesn't feel like it'd be a good tourist destination.
Bad weather most of the year, expensive, incredibly hectic etc. One of those places I'd think to go to once to tick it off/experience if I wasn't from here. Though I'm till holding out for the Begin Again crew to pop up in Trafalgar square when I'm walking through at some point.
Saying that I have a similar view of places like Paris, would much rather spend time in the south of France. As a place to live and work I like London as I like busy places/earn enough to enjoy it properly but for holidays/filming I can imagine better places.
I'm too used to these sites for them to stick out. Compare it to the capital cities on the European mainland and there's a pretty big scenic difference for me.
There are lots more scenic places in Europe in smaller towns, villages that would look amazing in photo shoots, MVs etc.
Because a lot of the world see the UK as a dump...
The last time I read a news article about the UK a girl died from air pollution and Unicef was donating food to them....(Born in Brum btw)
London tends to be used as an edgier setting, I think it still has a punky image. Crooked was filmed in London. Most K-Pop idols don't want edgy, they want picturesque.
Looking from the replies i think it's suitable to say YGE loves the UK more than any other companies lul.
Erm, not saying the UK has amazing air quality in the biggest cities, but at least we don't need an app to tell us when it's safe to breathe outside, unlike every single idol...
Yeah but Korean's don't really have a choice in it, they are born in SK with it's horrible air...when going on holiday why go to the UK?
uk has quite strong music industry on its own so most doesnt come
svt has EU dates this time around shame covid happened rip
I know koreans do like soccer a lot with the two most popular teams being Manchester united and tottenham which are both in the UK in manchester and london respectively. I think there were a few idols that went to see those two teams play. For example, luhan has visited united and jisoo has visited tottenham
Lmaooo, the UK is literally like the 5th most visited country in the world
No it isn't, from a quick search I can see it was the 10th most visited behind such delights as Mexico and China....
Cause British Gastronomy ?
More seriously idk, but i think country like France, Italia, Germany, Austria etc have a better reputation. Europeans argue a lot with the French, but France has a very good image in the world, particularly in Asia.
blackpink held a concert in the UK!
Tbf if my uni wasn't in the uk I would avoid the country as well
