Will an idol ever come out? If yes, who do you think it'd be?
I think in the next five to ten years maybe yes because a lot of groups are disbanding lately so they'd might do it after their disbandment and Korea is slowly becoming at least a tiny bit more accepting of homosexuality.
maybe in future , but now no .
Not any time too soon. Maybe with the coming of another generation.
I would definitely still like them, if I liked them before knowing their orientation, because it doesn't affect their talent.
Besides, I "like" idols despite knowing the fact that I would never be with one - so why would I dislike or becoming uncaring toward one who likes the same gender, when it doesn't increase/decrease my chances of being with them? I don't know... their orientation just doesn't affect their talent or me personally at all.
Plus, orientation doesn't define people. It is part of them but it doesn't make them, them.
they can't the backlash would be too hard, you saw what happened to IU and sulli about the lolita and red queen scandal , now imagine a male idol comming out
I've heard that got7 Jackson did come out already tho not directly.
Everytimes when people ask him his ideal type. He would ask " male ideal type or female ideal type? "
Which indirectly admitting that he's at least bi. And he said once that with guy his heart can beats faster too.
Maybe Jackson is bi, it would be good if someone came out but then their career would be dead
Do you think they'd be more accepting of a male coming out or a female?
but he chinese right , we talking about korean idol coming out , I don't think it will happen .
He's chinese but he still counts as an idol
If Korea becomes more open then great. I think there are a good number of people who aren't straight but whether they'll ever reveal it or not depends. Even people in Hollywood come out late and some don't reveal their sexualities till a good amount of time. I don't think Korea is ready for idols coming out just yet.
I think Suga is said to be pan. He does seem like the type of person who wouldn't care much.
Jo Kwon, Amber and Sungjong have already been breaking gender stereotypes for a while now.
one of AKB girls already come out as lesbian , so he not the first asian idol to come out .
Technically he hasn't come out tho
really ..?? i dint know that
if any idol counts okada nana of akb came out as being a bi sexual, but preferring girls this year.
Kinoshia Momoka has made it clear she is only attracted to girls for awhile.
i heard TOP is PAN too ...
mmm i think male , cuz like you saw in a lot of celebrity bromance and bromance culture in korea , it's more normal for 2 man's to cuddle hug or be more gay than in any western country
He did, he even said that he want to be on wgm but with a guy. As a male x male couple.
And I don't think gay in Korea are not that well accepted. Especially amongst the idols. They look pretty accepting and open minded about it..
Hong suk chun ( the proud gay Korea celebrity) have a lots of idols friend and many idols like to visits his cafe / restaurant.
Hoping for Heechul to come out..
