I love to see my bank account grow more than I lov stuff. I only buy things when it feels emotional. I even walked away from a yuta album cover the other day. I just didn't feel like it would bring me joy to have it.
I've been controlling myself a bit better lately. I'll stand there and really think about whether I need the item in question or not. Or, if I did grab it with all the intention of purchasing it, by the time I've walked around looking at more things, the guilt has set it and I'm wondering what in the hell I need it for. These months I've also just spent way too much money as a whole so I'm trying to save up again.
I am bad at it. I am not good at saving up.. I need advice too, but like the one I saw here just doesn’t cut it lol.
A combination of not really wanting much, but dreading the feeling of having to pay for it later outside of an earned treat.
You wanting it is all the justification you need. If it won't affect your savings too much then get it, and even if it will, still get it. Perfume lasts a while anyways
But I don't really "resist" the urge to buy something, I just know I'll probably get it eventually therefore it causes me not to rush yo purchase it if that makes sense
imagine yourself sitting 50 years in the future... you lost your job because they started replacing your role with robots. your roof is leaky after it rains, you only have 3 carrots in your fridge and you haven't paid your electricity bill yet. you look in your wallet. you have 58 cents. well at least you have that 100$ perfume your idol from 50 years ago used to wear. oops its gone bad and stinks. now its just you, your stinky perfume, leaky roof and 3 carrots. oh- and 58 cents.
Usually a perfume comes back And if it does not then it is better to not get it Imagine you love it but it is only a 1 time thing? Then what?
Lately i just splurge monthly on books Maybe once every few months I'll spend close to 100£ in an outfit But as long as it doesn't affect my monthly allowance for food and rent then I continue
I tell myself it won't be going anywhere (unless it's limited) so I can buy it another time when I have more money I can spend.
