Life is actually pretty awful as a nugu.
You can't even come into this job with a love for music and keep it from the sheer amount of shame and hate that comes from the public over not being popular.
Then there's the sometimes enormous debt.
Always in the shadows in other groups, with little support.
    Poor treatment.

And this is what people point and laugh at.

I hate it when people uses nugu as an insult towards other artists. Yes they’re not known but that doesn’t mean you should insult them or doubt their musical skills

When Kpop artists can't even go into the musical field out of love for music and creativity like western counterparts do
Dreams get broken in every creative field but Kpop just seems so harsh about how they go about crushing dreams.

I use it as unpopular artist or unknown not in malice but people using it to bash while pushing top 10 groups up are gross.

It is really sad, but every artist should know that there are great risks when going into the music industry. It's just not a stable or definite job especially if you are not accepted into a decent company.

It still sucks, and people shouldn't make fun of it. If they do, they probably haven't done much with their own lives.

And that's when parents need to address the issue. I know not everyone has parents, or they may have family issues. But in many cases the parents need to know when and how to properly step in. We can't just let these 10-13 year olds randomly be scouted. Yes, some may be really talented, but they may risk their education and futures so early on without actually living yet. We can't just let so many be scouted and have such a small amount be remotely successful. It isn't sustainable or worthwhile.

    Yeah it is sad.

These idols may be unpopular, but they're following their dream and performing / making music anyway - I'm pretty sure that's more than what the people trashing them are doing.

I wonder if it's legit just an accepted thing over there or if parents aren't aware of the hell they're signing their children into.
~I'm just guessing from my asian friends whom I know a lot of that look at this stuff and go ''Haha asian parents always do that''

I can kind of see that as my boyfriend's mom (born and raised in China) is totally oblivious to many important things. However, she does want him to go into something that pays well. Maybe these parents who are signing these children don't know the risks and just see a guaranteed successful outcome?
