Like, do you think that sometimes fandoms tend to see their groups more beautiful than they are? Like saying this and this is perfect when it's obviously not.

Is Stanning a group means to like anything done by your group?

    Oh hell yes.

‘Person X is the best vocalist in the history of Kpop’

‘Group X paved the way for other groups’

‘Group Y are legends and no one will ever come close to them’

All things I’ve heard from members of different fandoms. Honestly these people give such a bad name to the rest of us calm stans

The first one is a yes for me. When I stan a group I tend to exaggerate about how beautiful/talented they are.
But stanning a group doesn't necessarily mean that you have to like everything they do, at least not for me. But yeah, I see some people blindly defending anything their faves do, even if it's bad.

isn't that pretty natural with anything someone connects to for some reason?

Yeah. I think every group is great, but even my groups have released something that looks like there was no effort put in by them and people will still say it’s the best thing ever. If they do something bad,and they actually did it themselves. I won’t defend. I know beauty is subjective, but there are some idols who are just pretty,or good looking and people have said they’re the best looking in the world. No K-pop group is untouchable. They aren’t the best of the best for doing a thing a lot of Groups even do,but no one mentions them.

Of course fandoms and individuals exaggerate.

There's a natural tendency to build up things we admire or love.

isn't that the stan culture tho? I don't get why people get sad/mad over people hyping up their faves to the extreme when it's clearly just hype talk and nothing serious. Like you can say Ariana Grande is the queen of pop and people would let you go by your day. But in kpop if you hype up your groups like that, someone will give you a whole history lesson of who actually created kpop when u didn't ask for it. lmfao

Tbh we all naturally exaggerate the strengths of ppl we like. Like, if my friend is pretty but not stunning i dont have frenz but lets act like i do, I'd tell everyone that she's gorgeous. And if she does something that's rude, I'd think that there's no way my friend could do that. It sorta works that way in general, including kpop :D

    So yes ^^

Yes. Especially saying that X member is the best vocal or rapper, when they're shit. I don't want to name any fandoms but i'll drop some hints which fandoms do that on daily basis, the most "toxic" fandom, the new toxic fandom.
Stan culture is horrible. You're trying telling them something and they pull out a fake ass history book from their ass I say bullshit lines.
Idk I feel now new generations come and the cancer increases.
