I like FPS games. COD, Battlefield, PUBG, Apex and what not. Also into some racing games. Forza, NFS and what not. Also FIFA, F1, Minecraft. Basically, I like playing games...
This might sound weird but electronic stores in the general vicinity of the Middle East carried those until the early - mid 90s along with famicoms and NES. That's how I got mine. My father, who knows nothing about video games, bought us one back in the late 80s (before that, I was playing at my cousin's house) and when I was asking for an SNES, bought another 2600 instead. Consequently I got a NES mid-90s when the SNES and Genesis were winding down. Built my first PC a few years later and bought the original PS a year before PS2 launched. Dodged a bullet as I was saving up for a Dreamcast because of EGM's coverage of that console.
That’s pretty cool, some of the old consoles like the Atari 2600 and the games are worth a lot of money now as collectors items. I was just reading on google somewhere that one game cartridge in the box sold for about $33k. My friends all had Ataris and Genesis. I started with Nintendo and then to PC’s with an 80286.
yeah. mostly games like assassin's creed and red dead redemption. sometimes the occasional mobile phone game too.
I probably have my second Atari somewhere in my parent's house. However, the flimsy joysticks (I have the one with the grip like what people use in flight sims instead of just the small straight stick) are long gone. What I'm pretty sure I still have is my NES as it's sitting below my parent's TV still with it's box. One of these days I might check if it's still working. I didn't play it that much as I was more into comics during that time if I'm remembering correctly. It still might work. My first PC was a x486 running on Windows 3.1. It was a bitch with the multiple diskettes just to play Monkey Island and Doom. What I'm really proud of, however, was the first PC I built myself. It was a Celeron 266 MHZ, 64MB SDRAM, 512 MB HDD, S3 Virge video card (3D accelerator my butt - I wasn't able to play anything 3D until I got an S3 Savage later on) running on Windows 98. Best part was the free 4x CD-ROM drive as part of the package lol.
I’m trying to remember what my old 286 O/S was and I think it was DOS with dos shell or something like that and had a 40MB HD and then I put stacker on it which doubled that to 80M. (I had this old A10 flight sim) Later I got a 386 with co-processors but I took off the 3.1 as I hated 1st gen windows. I skipped over 486/586 and got a pentium till that died. I never got into to building my own PCs but I think anyone who had a pc in that era made sure they had plenty of expansion slots and knew how to change and setup mother-boards, add extra ram, replace hard-drives, 5-1/4 and 3.5 floppy drives. I agree that the required amount of diskettes for certain programs was just nuts.
I've just finished Horizon: Zero Dawn and Detroit: Become Human on PS4, now I'm currently playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and The Outer Worlds on Xbox One X. I'm really looks forward to playing Jedi Fallen Order and Shenmue III in the coming weeks. Especially Shenmue III, I've waited 20yrs for this game and was pretty much the only reason I bought a PS4. If you wanna play with me hit me up and I'll give you my gamertags
Ha! I still have my NES! Not sure if it's still working though. The years haven't been kind to the finish as the dirt have become permanent stain already. It doesn't show up in the pic but it doesn't look good. Also missing a controller which I don't remember breaking or losing it. I had mom take pictures and she sent it to me early today. I also asked if she can find any of the cartridges so I could test it later https://ibb.co/D5ftfhc https://ibb.co/Y3srtMY https://ibb.co/b5L9mh7
