It's like GTA in a sense that it is an open world game however Cyberpunk is more systems-based like gaining experience points, multiple ways to solve missions or quest and not all of the options need to end up in massive firefights and player choices are front and center which are hallmarks of roleplaying games. So it's a lot closer to Deus Ex or even Elder Scrolls as far as broad stroke comparison is concerned.

Here's when Cyberpunk 2077 unlocks next week

    Source: PC Gamer

Cyberpunk 2077 is now just one week away, and it's really, seriously, no-foolin' going to happen this time. To wash away any doubt, CD Projekt has now shared the worldwide preload and unlock times.

Preloading on GOG will begin at 12 pm CET on December 7, which translates to 3 am PT/6 am ET, for those of us in North America. Steam and the Epic Games Store will follow at 8 am PT/11 am ET/5pm CET on the same day.

A few days later, the real fun begins. The release date is December 10 in CD Projekt's home country of Poland, but because it's a simultaneous worldwide release on PC and Stadia, some of us will technically get it a little early.
    When does Cyberpunk 2077 unlock?

    • 4 pm PT on December 9
    • 7 pm ET on December 9
    • 12 am GMT on December 10
    • 8 am CST on December 10
    • 11 am AEDT on December 10

If you're not in one of those time zones, this map tweeted by CD Projekt has the full breakdown. You can also click on this time zone calculator link to see your own timezone. Scroll down to the bottom of this post for an easily expandable version of the map.

Console players are on a slightly different schedule: CD Projekt said that console versions "will release in each region at midnight local time."

For a closer look at what Cyberpunk 2077 is all about, be sure to check out our recent in-depth preview of living large in Night City. And if you're already committed and eagerly awaiting its arrival, we've got a list of nine ways to get yourself ready for the big day.
When can I preload Cyberpunk 2077?

Cyberpunk 2077 preloads go live on Monday, December 7th at 12 pm Central European Time on GOG, and at 5 pm CET on Steam and the Epic Games Store. That means Cyberpunk 2077's PC preload times are a few hours apart depending on which store you got the game from, but the actual unlock time for the game will be the same on all stores.

Here's how the preload times work out in other regions. Don't see your timezone listed? Just click this handy link.

    Steam and Epic preloads:

    • 8 am PT on December 7
    • 11 am ET on December 9
    • 4 pm GMT on December 7
    • 12 am CST on December 8
    • 3 am AEDT on December 8

    GOG Preloads:

    • 3 am PT on December 7
    • 6 am ET on December 7
    • 11 am GMT on December 7
    • 7 pm CST on December 7
    • 10 pm AEDT on December 7

Here's the map that spells it all out.

Cyberpunk 2077 overtakes Dota 2 and CS:GO with over one million peak concurrent players on Steam

    Source: VG247

Cyberpunk 2077 is already the top game on Steam just hours after launch.

It was always assumed that Cyberpunk 2077 would be one of Steam’s biggest games, but harder to predict just how well it would do at launch.

Well, the game is now out, and it not only sits atop Steam’s best-seller charts, it’s also – at the time of writing – Steam’s most actively played game, peaking at 1,003,264 players.

This is enough to overtake the unshakable Dota 2, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. This ranking will no doubt change once the majority of the two games’ audience get online. Nevertheless, these highs are rare for any single-player-only game.

CD Projekt Red’s own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, itself a big deal at launch, only managed some 40,000 peak concurrent. It wasn’t until the success of the Netflix series that it broke the 100,000 mark – both small potatoes compared to Cyberpunk 2077’s one million.

Compared to other massive PC launches, such as GTA 5, and Fallout 4, Cyberpunk 2077 easily beats all of them. The closest in this case would be Fallout 4, which only peaked at less than half-a-million at launch.

For reference, Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord was this year’s biggest Steam launch with over 145,000 concurrent players, which then got boosted to 220,000 after positive word of mouth spread. Other big releases like Doom Eternal (104,000), and indie Diablo-like Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem (127,000) do not even compare.Seeing as it’s not yet the weekend, there’s every chance Cyberpunk 2077 will set new records as more players get their hands on it.

I heard that it was a bop on PC and flop on PS4 and Xbox since there are A LOT of bugs, especially visuals. The PS4 and Xbox are not powerful enough apparently to carry Cyberpunk 2077's graphics and sometimes it takes 20+ seconds for the graphics to load and while it's loading, it looks like a glitchy version of PS2 character models.

Can someone explain wth this is??

The PC's a buggy, unoptimized mess too, it's just more apparent with the base consoles. If you have a high-end PC, you can kinda brute force the game but there's no going around the crashes, missing textures, NPCs stuck in a t-pose, janky FPS, etc.

Per the screenshot above, you said it yourself it's loading the textures. Maybe installing an SSD might cut down on the loading time? Another game where I've seen the same thing happen is in Assassin's Creed Origins release version. This was patched eventually.

Personally after 20+ hours of game time, I've yet to experience any crashes or quest-breaking bugs thankfully. However, I've experienced missing audio, audio overlapping, texture and shadow pop-ins, t-posing NPCs, crowd vanishing into thin air, NPCs strumming invisible guitars, an NPC shuffling an invisible deck of cards, enemies just standing in place, janky mouse and keyboard, and some other issues even after patch 1.04. Hopefully they can fix all these issues as the game is still great storywise and it's immersive when everything works as its supposed to. Surprisingly I'm getting a more stable FPS in this game than in Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Very disappointed with what this turned out to be, it's not even the ridiculous technical problems but the game itself feels lifeless af, so boring and as usual from cdprojekt underwhelming gameplay. This game promised to be the second coming of christ and this is what they come up with after like 8 years

And some people have the nerve of putting this dev on the same level as rockstar, naughty dog or nintendo. They sit on the same table with bethesda if anything

Oh my gosh, wow! It may be worse than Fallout 76 as far as bugs go. Yeah, I agree. Despite there being all these technical problems, the game is still very good. I have not purchased it yet because of the bugs but I've seen gameplays on YouTube and Twitch. I'm pretty upset about the technical difficulty part of this because I expected a lot more for a good video company and was apparently in development for nearly 8 years. Honestly, I don't care if they'd have to lower the graphic quality because they put too much to the point where the consoles couldn't handle it and you would need a VERY strong PC to run it smoothly at low graphics. I have a PS5 and I heard it has an SSD which is amazing, it increases the visual quality and decreases the original load times. Load times that typically take 30+ seconds on PS4 take more than half that time on the PS5.

I installed it in my HDD as my SSD and NVME are full and I'm feeling lazy right now to tinker and move stuff. The game still loads pretty fast although it does stutter in-game for a few seconds as it loads an area. Per the steep requirements, it's future-proofing I'm assuming. Kinda like Crysis. They assume the hardware would eventually caught up and be good enough that you can play it on max.

Wait for the actual PS5 version if you have the patience. Hopefully by that time all the major issues have been ironed out.

Cyberpunk 2077: How To (Try To) Get A Refund

    Source: GameSpot

After years of anticipation, the release of Cyberpunk 2077 has been soured by bugs ranging from funny graphical glitches to game-breaking crashes. The bulk of these are occurring for players on PS4 and Xbox One, which led CD Projekt Red to suggest that players who are unhappy with the game should seek refunds.

Depending on what country you're in and where you bought the game, however, this might not be the easiest task. In a tweet, CD Projekt Red admitted that the game had performance issues on PS4 and Xbox One, and recommended seeking a refund at your point of sale. "For copies purchased digitally, please use the refund system of PSN or Xbox respectively. For boxed versions, please first try to get a refund at the store where you bought the game."

As Lifehacker reports, online retailers like Amazon and Walmart have extended their returns periods for the holidays, which may be a bonus for unhappy Cyberpunk 2077 players. However digital storefronts like Steam, the PSN Store, and Microsoft store often have more restrictive refund policies.

Reports say customers have nevertheless been successful in getting refunds from both Sony and Microsoft, though some players have had to spend over an hour on the PlayStation support line to get one. PC players unhappy with how the game performs on their computers can also submit refund requests through Steam even if their gameplay has passed the two hour limit, while CD Projekt's GOG platform will also allow refunds.

Getting a refund from physical stores may be more difficult depending on the individual store's policy, though reports from Australia--where customer protections explicitly entitle players to a refund when a game is broken or buggy--say multiple game stores are honoring refunds.

With all these refund methods, it's worth mentioning game crashes and game-breaking bugs in your refund request, just as you would if you were returning a faulty piece of hardware. If all else fails, CD Projekt Red has set up the dedicated email address helpmerefund@cdprojektred.com for players looking for help refunding its game.

Sony is pulling Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store and offering full refunds

    Source: The Verge

Sony is pulling Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store and offering full refunds for anyone who bought the game from the digital storefront, the company said on Thursday. If you want to start the refund process now, Sony says to visit this site and sign into your PlayStation account to submit a request.

However, later on Thursday evening, Sony said it is “aware some users are experiencing issues” accessing the refund form. If you’re seeing issues, you may want to try again later.

Cyberpunk 2077 has already been removed from the PlayStation Store for a few Verge staffers on their PS5s, and the game doesn’t come up in a search for “Cyberpunk 2077” on the web version of the store. Following older, online listing links to the game will show its store page, but with the option to wish list it only.

Players have found that Cyberpunk 2077, which has only been out for a little more than one week, has been riddled with bugs. And while game looks and performs well in backwards compatibility mode on the PS5, it is prone to routine crashes and a number of distracting visual glitches. On PS4, however, the game fares a lot worse — Eurogamer reported poor performance, low framerate, and texture pop-in.

Sony’s move comes just days after Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red said people unsatisfied with their purchase on the PS4 or Xbox One should request a refund. Yet due to Sony’s stringent refund policy, many who bought digital versions of the game from the PlayStation Store were unable to get refunds. (Players who bought the Xbox One version of the game have reported better luck with Microsoft’s more generous refund policy.)

It’s unclear when Sony plans to return Cyberpunk 2077 to the PlayStation Store; the company’s note says the game will be unavailable in its digital format “until further notice.” It’s also not clear if Microsoft plans to similarly yank the game from its digital storefront or offer full refunds. Microsoft didn’t immediately reply to a request for comment.

CD Projekt Red has committed to releasing patches to improve Cyberpunk 2077. The company has already released one post-launch update, and in a December 13th statement, the studio said another update is “coming within the next 7 days.” More significant patches are planned for January and February. “Together these should fix the most prominent problems gamers are facing on last-gen consoles,” the company said.

I read somewhere a while ago that the Witcher 3 was instantly cracked after its release, and that cyberpunk is being made on a similar syste m routerlogin , so it is likely that it would also be cracked quickly. Is this true?192.168.0.1

I don't think discussions relating to piracy is allowed here. You can easily search the answer to your question within 5 minutes of googling.

Microsoft and Best Buy are now offering Cyberpunk 2077 refunds

    Source: PC Gamer

The PC version of Cyberpunk 2077 is buggy, but not a total disaster. It's the console versions, specifically when played on an original Xbox One or PlayStation 4, where things have been really rough. As a result, Microsoft has followed Sony's lead on Cyberpunk 2077 refunds, announcing on Twitter today that full refunds will be offered to anyone who purchased the game through the Microsoft Store. US retailer Best Buy is also offering refunds on physical editions of the game, even if they're open, but in a much more limited timeframe.

"To ensure that every player can get the experience they expect on Xbox, we will be expanding our existing refund policy to offer full refunds to anyone who purchased Cyberpunk 2077 digitally from the Microsoft Store, until further notice," the Xbox Support account tweeted.

"While we know the developers at CD Projekt Red have worked hard to ship Cyberpunk 2077 in extremely challenging circumstances, we also realize that some players have been unhappy with the current experience on older consoles."

Cyberpunk 2077 refunds from the Microsoft Store are subject to its standard refund policies, and the refund request page states that "submitting a request does not guarantee a refund." However, Xbox Support noted on Twitter that "to date, we have granted refunds to the vast majority of customers who have requested one."

That's a notable contrast to Sony, which prior to last night's announcement, faced criticism from some owners over its apparent reluctance to issue refunds.

Unlike Sony, however, Microsoft has not taken the bigger step of removing the game from its storefront, and Cyberpunk 2077 remains available for purchase through the Microsoft Store. I've reached out to Microsoft and CD Projekt to ask about the possibility of the game being removed from the store, and will update if I receive a reply.

Best Buy said earlier today in its gaming support forum that it too will offer refunds on physical editions of the game, including both standard and collector's edition releases. It's a very unusual step—retailers generally have a hard "no refunds" policy on opened software—but while refunds on the Microsoft Store will be available "until further notice," Best Buy's offer is only good until December 21.

"Normally, Best Buy is unable to offer returns of opened game software per our Return & Exchange Promise here. However, after some deliberation, and seeing that the vendor will be allowing returns through 12/21/2020, Best Buy will also be allowing returns for select opened Cyberpunk 2077 SKU’s through December 21, 2020," a support rep explained. "Beyond that date, we will return to our normal Return & Exchange Promise for the game."

CD Projekt is also offering refunds on physical editions, regardless of where they were purchased, within the same time frame. "Our intention is for every owner of a physical copy, or a digital copy bought at retail, who has valid proof of purchase (and sends us an email at helpmerefund@cdprojektred.com within the time window) to receive a refund," the studio said on Twitter. "We will do this out of our own pocket if necessary."

"If you are unable to obtain a refund for the game from the store where you bought it, please contact us via email until December 21. As this is a one-time initiative, we will provide everyone with next steps only after the refund request submission window closes."

The release of the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077, eight years after it was announced, has not quite been the moment of triumph that many expected. Here's our breakdown of all the many ways that things have gone wrong for CD Projekt over the past week.
