because people always say that Chinese idols get send to China to make money. But do they actually earn so much more money in China than in Korea and Japan.
    The short answer? no!
The long answer? Well, according to Forbes list, Fan Bingbing made 37 million in 2017 and is thus the top earner (ex-exo member Luhan is second with around 30 million). Now look at TVXQ for example, who made 200 million USD from their 2018 Japan tour alone. SM only takes 30% from foreign concerts and that leaves TVXQ with 140 million. Split up to the two members, and they have already earned 70 million each, twice as much as China’s top earner. BTS also makes mad bank in the US and even if you do a dome tour in Korea, you can make around 100 million dollars.
So the move from company to send their idols to China is maybe not only because of money, but maybe their is another, yet unknown reason.
(or because of the fact that Koreans are racist and don’t like other Asian idols, so the company’s try to get them the tiniest stepping stone in Korea and then instantly transfers them to China.)

They make more money in China because Korea has a policy due to which foreigners get paid less than their Korean counterpart

Also promoting in their home country can provide them more popularity so that they can have a successful solo career after their group disbands.

When Asian idols make so much, I wonder about Americans but IDK. Also German celebs earn not really much. The richest musician in Germany has acording to some websites only 20 million € wich are like 23 million dollar I guess

The forbes list is probably what they actually pocket and pay taxes.

for the tvxq example i think you exaggerated.
first 200m need to pay for cost - equipment, stage, dancers
second, avex need to take their cut
then, SM and TVXQ split 30/70

Yeah but not every group is a TVXQ. Like WJSN or GOT7 do they make as much money as TVXQ.

    of course not lol.

TVXQ is in another league, and they're only splitting between 2 people. WJSN is like... 13? i wonder if they have even paid off their debts yet. unsure about got7, but definitely no where near top tier level.

you do make a lot more in china. cfans are crazy rich and there are lots of them.
