Is what many army's on AKP have been saying for a while now,BTS is an anomaly. (no other group from K-pop will ever be on their level nor have the potential to ever be on BTS level lol)so basically since BTS are not considered the standard for K-pop WW success, which group then is the standard?
Imo it's BLACKPINK then, they are the only group that is strong in all the metrics(Physical, digital, views, touring)
No other group I think is as strong at all 4,BP have what most Kpop groups nowadays want which is global presence (charting in top 20 music markets)+ 75/100% English speaking members.
I can go on on why BP are suited to be standard but I reckon y'all already know + this isn't an achievement or diss thread at all
Drop your opinions down below as to which group u think is worthy of being a true standard for K-pop WW success!!!

BTS are king but I'm impressed with TXT because they were only around for 3 months,

TXT debut is already 20 times more massive than when BTS debut ( although properly they are brothergroup of BTS and army ). Give TXT half a year an they be touring the whole world.

Tbh I think the standard should be someone who's doing well in Korea specifically rather than abroad.

Not like BTS level, that is - as you also agree - unreachable, but maybe ... NU'EST :nervousk::nervousk::nervousk:?

Their recent album did so well on the chart I'm so proud of them!

EDIT: I feel like y'all are still sleeping on them and that irritates me too.

I'm just saying they are so far ahead when BTS were rookies, maybe the standard for rookie groups. Their first song (the only real official single ) o Itunes reached no.1 in 54 countries BTS didn't even reach top 10 anywhere until 2015. To be honest most K-pop groups like Stray Kids, Monsta X, Ateez are already ahead of BTS when they debut but than I believe it's because of BTS popularity that made other K-pop groups popular.

Can groups like TXT, Stray Kids, Monsta X, Ateez break BTS record ??? properly no. Maybe TXT can because they are under bighit.

No one says BTS are the standard of kpop, they're above it. But you saying BP is the standard will give BP hate, js.

I don't think you understand what I'm asking..
Use the relavent data available not projections lol(but army's will probably agree with u lol)
Like I can say BP will surpass BTS in the future but again that's a projection or wishful thinking
    I'm talking about the present

    Promotion time! Fall in love:

I'm a little icky about it being WW because you gotta admit, Kpop is still a niche and only a select few breakthrough to abroad. Most groups are focused on doing well in Korea first.

Twice is also strong in all metrics you mentioned .
BTS is also strong in all metrics in fact way strongers than Blackpink .
    But lets lave a comparison
    Youtube views BTS>BP>Twice
Physicals BTS > Twice > BP
Touring BTS > Twice > BP
Digital BTS > Twice > BP
How is BP the standard ? I think it should be 100% BTS who really define Kpop standard after that it should be Twice and then it may be Blackpink
Standard comes from achievements and awards not popularity.

BTS does seem unbeatable and properly no K-pop group will ever surpass them but a lot of people said no K-pop could ever be bigger or surpass Big Bang, DBSK, SNSD and now we see so many are bigger than them. I saw some old comments from 2015 that said the same thing about EXO. There even old tweets that put Exo no.1 and BTS no.4 in rankings now the numbers have turned around.

It's hard to see how those future K-pop groups be like. Who knows, maybe they will surpass BTS one day.
