[Lisa] has reportedly donated to help those in need as the Northeastern region of Thailand experiences over two weeks of severe flooding.

According to Yonhap News, local Thai media sources have reported that Lisa donated 100,000 baht (approximately $3,300) to help flood victims. It’s said that one of Lisa’s relatives posted a bank transfer receipt on Twitter and wrote, “Lisa hopes that this can be even a bit of help towards aiding those suffering because of the flood.”

That's nice of her but I'm surprised that it's not more.
If the YGE contract information is true then she has at least 6 million dollars/euros on her account.

Thailand's Prime Minister also donated the same amount as her. She donates and the first thing people do is judge how much she donated...

What about YG not paying them properly and gambling their money away, what about Lisa getting paid 6 times less until now till that thai tule was fixed and her amount needs to be released yet like CLC Sorn mentioned. They just ended their concerts, are we sure payment settlements have been done or not???

She did not publicly donate, she donated in private and yet people are still judging her...

Also you need to account in the factor that other celebs will also donate and shd also consider the size of tragedy...

They barely do any activities and lisa finally saved up enough money to buy a house for her parents... they are barely into their career and people want them to donate like queens???

FYI, Lisa Chinese fanbase has already collected and donated towards this cause separately... If you care of much about the victims to have more money then PLEASE DONATE instead of scribbling all over social media about how much she donated.. Remember even 1 dollar counts;)

Lisa doesn't make 6 times less. Sorn explained that that only applies to royalties and since lisa doesn't write or produce song she probably wouldn't make much from royalties anyway. Blackpinks main income is from touring and CFS not royalties.

I also read that lisa sends her grandparents money too. She obviously makes enough to support her family.

Also, I'm not 100% familiar with Thailand but maybe $3,300 in the area experiencing flooding is a lot of money.

Lisa is such an angel on earth

Only idiots will judge the donation amount when she donated exactly same amount with Thailand’s PM

Thailand’s minimum wage = THB 300 per day

    There's 3 explanations

$3,300 in the area experiencing flooding is a lot of money

She's not as rich as one would think

She felt as if 3K was "Enough"

    Hmmm

$30,300 in the area experiencing flooding would be even more money.

Then YGE pretty much stole her money. The contract(I got the contract information from different sources and they all say pretty much the same) says that the YG artists earn 60 % of the Event-Money they make. Concerts are apparently events too.
Do I need to say more?

If she still doesn't have much money then the company stole from her and deserves to be sued to hell.

That's okay of course. Other people don't donate anything.

But 3,300 is a weird number for a donation anyway.
    Maybe it's something symbolic.

I really don't want to believe that she really doesn't have much money but that would explain the weird number too...

Everyone is focusing on the $3300 as if that’s the most important detail of this whole story. The conversion is there to just give those who are not familiar with Thai culture to have an understanding of how much money it is. There does not need to be any meaning behind the number itself. The victims are not gonna be converting in their heads what amount in $$$ the exchange rate is but anything to sh** on the kind gesture because of who it is. I guess the victims should have the same thought process then...

The contract thing is 60% of the profit not the revenue. Concerts and tours are expensive so its whatever (BP's tour made - costs of the tour)x.6. Then obviously it's split by 4 for each member. I think concerts count as overseas activities not events. Events are like college festivals. Also, BP's world tour was sponsored so they're payment might be completely different. They might have just gotten a flat fee or something.

People judging her for "how little" she donated are probably people who'd throw a fit if their parents bought them an expensive ass car but it wasn't the model they wanted. Pettiness.

Why would the donation mean something symbolic in usd? She donated what plenty of other people did.

Not true. The number of possible explanations is far greater, but haters have an agenda, obviously.

So people who might not have ever donated in their life, are judging the donation amount?
I guess no good deeds shall go unpunished in kpop

And if she donated every cent she had, sold all her assets, she could donate even more....Sorry, but this is absurd.

Also, SHE DID NOT DONATE IN DOLLARS! She donated in the local currency, and then someone decided to convert, apparently to make her look bad since the amount in the local currency is substantial, but hey, lets convert to dollars to make it look insignificant.

Here is a comparison no one seems to be making - earlier this year the whole group made a donation to fire victims in Korea after a big set of fires, with each donation being 10M Won. That was....$8,395 dollars. wow, just $8,395 dollars now, though back in April the conversion being given was $8700...but still what a weird number.....

Here is a list of what a lot of Korean celebrities donated then:

    https://www.eonline.com/ap/news/103...-donated-to-the-gangwon-wildfire#photo-995940

10M won was a common amount by idols and ex-idols....and I don't remember the hate threads for people making "weird donation amounts" or just donating that little.

    https://www.ceicdata.com/en/indicator/korea/annual-household-income-per-capita
    https://www.ceicdata.com/en/indicator/thailand/annual-household-income-per-capita

Here is another bit of comparison. The average per capital income South Korea was $16,570 in 2018. So the April donation to fire relief by these celebrities was about half of the South Korean per capita income. The Average per capita income in Thailand in 2018 was $3,320, or about as much as Lisa donated. And she is being attacked now for not being generous enough.

Sorry, but this is pure hater behavior.
