What do you say about this statement? Cause I just read this article from SBS itself saying indirectly that this will be the new trend in Kpop GG

"Is the innocent girl group concept finally coming to an end?"

    https://www.sbs.com.au/popasia/blog/2018/06/21/blackpink-gi-dle-smash-gaon-charts

Not gonna lie I'm biased as F regarding these two groups and would be happy for both to reach superstardom (BP already achieve it, I-DLE still a long way to go)

Does group like Twice will be forced to shift their style to girlcrush as well? And for future debuts like Loona, SMNGG, JYPNGG, etc? Or this is just one moment shifting in kpop 2018?

Let's have healthy debates here lol

Meanwhile here's their latest live in Inkigayo - too bad no interaction =(

Don’t get me wrong - I like (G)I-DLE, they are cool. I still think it’s to early to speculate now. (G)I-DLE will need quite many hits to become one of the top girlgroups - right now they just had a good start, a very solid debut. Now they need to make the best out of it :) At the moment I don’t see them as the next potential NGG, but I definitely see them as one of the Top 10 girlgroups in maybe 2-3 years. They have the potential to become a successful group like 4Minute back then. Not right at the top, but definitely popular and successful.

    They're 3rd gen.

4th gen won't start until 2019 or whenever SM NGG debuts

I mean judging by their debut, already they are no.1 for next most anticipated comeback of 2018...I say they have lots of potential to be big, now its just how their next songs gonna perform on charts and accepted by knetz or GP...

Plus if its true about the trend shift from fun n happy theme into girlcrush era, they will be easily pushed to the top (Soyeon charisma is too good tbh as a girlcrush)

People need to stop with their tunnel vision, sure (G)I-dle and Blackpink are doing well this year but so did Momoland, Mamamoo and Gfriend, none of which are girl crush.

Generation depends on the state of the industry like the 1st generation was mainly physicals since there wasn't the digital market there is now which is why the 1st generations physicals per album are way higher than most.

So when there is a change enough in the state of the industry that makes 3rd generation a different point then we'll be in the 4th generation.

Twice 4M sales , 3B youtube views , 7 daesangs are nothing now I believe lol . Okay BP leads then !! People still forget Twice WIL would have gotten almost 100 PAks if Nilo hasn't blocked them Sorry dude , but Blackpink might never surpass Twice anytime soon . Twice still leads 3rd generation .

Yeah, the article seems forgetting that lol

I see, so its still in 3rd gem then ever for Loona and SMNGG

I'm quite biased towards Twice and Red Velvet, I love both groups and I like BP but I think that BP would be far more successful with a different management.
They have been out there for some time but they are like (or so I think) YG's emergency group.

Seems like he doesn't really care about them until now, but, I don't know too much about it.
I say that BP could beat Twice *but* with a different management, right now Twice seems to be an unstoppable beast. :p

I may be wrong, of course, said I'm biased haha.

Other girl groups which are not girl crush are also doing well this year but I'm always ready for more girl crush concepts.

If this year isn't enough of a change then yeah they'll be 3rd generation but it could be like Apink where they debut at the end of a generation and get big in the following generation, only time will tell though.

I love BP but i honestly think its def
TWICE that will lead till the next
but i also can see it being both ways tbh since many feel like comparing gidle to bp
I feel like BPs journey will leave an imprint but theyre one of the few to lead but TWICE for GG is def the first in line atm
