Yes, I know he still has blackpink and winner that do really well in Korea. And ikons tours. But I don't think these will ever replace the hole 2ne1 and bigbang left. Is this the end of the chart topping hits with millions of downloads? Even taeyang flopped ;(

    I just want 2ne1 back :(

I WANT THE OLD GROUPS BACK

I thought people would love his album. I thought Koreans loved ballads

Kinda glad about yg being not quite as successful as they used to be anymore cause back in the day yg stans were just absolutely terrible but nowadays I actually get along with them!

I don’t think they’re really declining but the prospect of them returning to their golden days seems unlikely

It's sad that international fans always leave my boys out. They are the top selling group for YG in 2017 so far at 172,728.

Then again it might be a bad thing that the top selling group in 2017 debut in 1997, for the company. :whatr:.

I think the main reason people are saying YG is doomed is because they currently don't have a younger mega group like BTS or EXO (no BigBang does not count). Though I think Winner and BP have huge potential for the future. Possibly Ikon as well if YG brings them out of the dungeon.

YG as company has gotten stronger with all this new ventures like the clothing line (I can't remember the brand), Moonshot, all the TV shows, YG+... but the music branch looks without a direction.
it's like BB's enlistment took everybody by surprise and now they're just trying to fill the void as they can.
2ne1 is other story but could you believe they had so many talented girls in the dungeon for so long and they didn't get to debut until 2ne1's situation was critical?

I see you don't check the digital charts. Sechskies has been in the top of the Gaon digital (1st or second for the last few weeks)

Umm I don't think so. Reports came out that their investors weren't happy and we're trying to sell their shares. The music branch is the one that makes the most money for them....and to not have a direction is not good. But I think they had a makeup brand or something

You speak with reason....YG's musical branch is really left with no musical direction. I don't know what he's thinking with this whole "survival" show...but that's always been his solution when shit gets tough (rather than actually letting some of his artists out of the dungeon).

When Se7en was hitting a low - he did a survival show to debut Big Bang
When Big Bang got into scandals - he created WIN
When Bobby won SMTM/WINNER was moderately successful - he created Mix & Match so he could debut Ikon
And now, when Big Bang is on an indefinite hiatus & IJon is flopping - he's making Mix Nine (because he can't help himself and try to make the next HUGE boy group)

Sorry, I probably came off like a a** as well. Sometimes I forget that most people only follow news and stuff from fandom's they are in. So I should not have expected you to know that. :nervousk::giftr: Apologies.
