I hope they can be invited again next year :/ a lot of people are surprised they didn't get invited this time.

They had 1 single and the covid song but correct?
not sure how that compares to the other acts.

I mean i love zuki she was adorable, but its not the typical multi single year for them.

Yes true they didn't have a lot of activities this year, they only had one single at the beginning of the year and it didn't get so popular. This makes me hope that if next year they are very active, they might be invited again... But then again the pandemic hurt everyone and the fact that they were removed of the line-up made a lot of people sad :/ I hope NHK see the reactions and consider to invite them next year.

true it is a blow, AKB is kinda a fixture. For them not to get a legacy pick for some bright energy in this depressing year is a shame.

is covid-19 really have that big impact? i mean even nogizaka can still make it, and they were performer for 11 years streak (2009-2019)

I haven't really follow them since 2015, it just feeling weird now

I think yes, AKB only had 1 single this year and it was in the beginning of the year, they had to push back and reschedule all hanshake events to online events and they took months and months to do this... They released a digital single about the pandemic and that's it. They barely did anything this year so I think the lack of activities due to covid also had an impact

seeing this massive downfall really worries me since my favorite members are still in the group, even I didn't really follow them at all anymore, I still love them
