According to the mother, Mrs. Jang, her first daughter was a university student with excellent grades. She received an offer to start working part-time as an extra actress by her younger sister. "It was the very beginning of the tragedy," Mrs. Jang said. The extra actress then became victim to 16 accounts of sexual assault by 4 directors who directed and supervised her work. After suffering from sexual assault, the extra actress's personality changed, and she had to take a break from school.
When Mrs. Jang found out, she reported the matter to the police, but the police investigation only caused more stress on Jang's daughter. The directors who assaulted her began to threaten her, causing Jang's family to cancel their suit. Jang's first daughter ultimately committed suicide, and a week later, her sister, who felt guilty for introducing her to the job in the first place, also committed suicide.
This occurred in 2009, but according to Jang, two of the assailants are still working in the entertainment industry. Jang demanded, "Even if my daughters will not come back to life, I want those assailants to apologize."
Netizens, after seeing the incident come to light, are also demanding, "Please reopen the investigation", "We have to make those assailants pay", and more, and have even launched a Blue House petition for the police to bring justice to the siblings.
