According to video footage revealed by Kyungnam Police Station, they received an urgent 112 emergency call of "a kid standing naked around the back side of the Tongyeong City Hall Office, 2nd Building," back on August 5 at 8:40 am KST.
Upon discovering the naked child, Kyungnam police officials brought the boy over to the Tongyeong Police Station.
Though the boy didn't show any signs of fear and appeared rather energetic, he refused to answer the officer's questions such as his name and his age.
Even after arriving at the station, the boy continued to walk around exposed in the facility without a care in the world.
Afterward, police personnel dressed the toddler up in an oversized bright yellow security guard vest. Upon performing a fingerprint scan, they were able to identify the boy as 3-year-old Kim.
Kim was then able to reunite with his mother around 10-11am at the police station. It was later on revealed that the boy, suffering from a developmental disorder, had been quite far away from his home, having taken off while his grandmother was asleep. He had not been wearing any clothes at the time because of the hot weather.
An officer commented, "Since the boy was walking through the back alleyways, we received only one emergency call. Luckily, he wasn't injured."
The police also mentioned, "The boy was able to quickly return to his family thanks to his guardian, who had registered his fingerprint into our system beforehand. It's a good idea to do so to prevent the risk of losing your child."
Upon seeing the story, netizens wrote, "Aww so cute," "This brought a smile to my face," "What an adorable kid," "I did something similar when I was a kid," and more.
