On January 31, media outlet Daegu Now posted on their official Facebook page a video clip of a boy helping out an old lady on a street in Daegu.

Having been working since the early morning gathering discarded boxes, an old lady was pushing the cart filled with boxes when they fell and scattered all over the ground caused by a ferocious wind.

Seeing the elderly woman by the dangerous roadside as cars zoomed past, a young student nearby went over to help the old lady by picking up the pieces and loading them onto the cart.

The identity of the student hasn't been revealed.

Netizens commented, "What a lovely sight," "It's great to see someone out there who actually cares these days,"  "Wow," "This is so awesome."

I did the exact same thing for a Target employee earlier this week, where's my 10 minutes of internet fame? JK, but sadly there are people who need to learn about something magical called 'helping'

When I went to Korea, I was very shocked to see a lot of old people load carts of cardboard like this Ajhumma. People (mostly young) ignored it like it was nothing, definitely shocking since I did not grow up around people who did this to live. It's nice to see that someone like this student was thoughtful and caring toward her.

Is it that bad in South Korea, that any normal/kindbutnotamazing act performed by a decent human being gets that praised that much? Like, to the point to make an article about that. WTF...

KMetzger IJWD96 Tuesday, January 31, 2017

Public praise will motivate more people to do good things , so I'm fine with it.

1) It's what KMetzger said, public praise encourages others to follow suit; 2) allkpop making an article about this doesn't reflect that it's huge news; netizens in SK post things like this all the time.
