A case of senseless violence occurred between two men, a 39-year-old Park and a 70-year-old Cho, this past weekend on Busan's subway system.

According to the Busanjin Police Station and a Yangjeong Station worker, around 3:30 p.m. this past July 7, Park allegedly attacked Cho on the subway. Following investigations, police discovered that Park was on the subway car headed towards Nopo-dong when Jo got on the same car at Seomyeon Station. Cho sat next to Park and the elderly man said to him, "sit with your legs closed." Park allegedly refused Cho's request with, "I don't want to. I won't sit with my legs closed."

Further, it was reported that Cho threatened to strike Park with his fists, and Park reacted by attacking Cho's face. The other passengers who were riding in the same car as Park and Cho reported the fight, and a subway station worker along with police arrived on the scene soon thereafter to break up the altercation.

The detective in charge of the case stated, "Park said that it was Cho who instigated and threatened him first with his fists. But the first one to attack was Park. We can only get to the bottom of what really happened once we investigate the case fully.

Cho, who was reportedly bleeding profusely from the face after Park attacked, was transferred to the hospital. Police plan to continue their investigations once Cho is discharged.

If the train was crowded (unlikely at 3:30 pm) asking to close his legs (so he could sit more comfortably) would be quite reasonable. Threatening to punch their face when they don't comply, however, is not.. And really hitting a guy in response of such a threat might actually be considered defensive, even if the guy throwing the punches seems to have been rather jumpy.

People are crazy. Don't try and educate strangers. Don't threaten an old man. Don't attack anybody. Basic life skills like damn

both of them.. one for saying no (like that isn't even a big thing, just do it), one for threatening him with fists for saying no (what kind of education is that?!).

Cho is 70 for god sake. Punching an old man is a no no even if he said he would punch you; seriously, Park could have killed the old man with that punch. Park should have walked away to another car/part of the subway.

No offence but Cho's asking for trouble. Like why are you educating a grown ass stranger man in a public setting and then threatening him with fists? Obviously things won't end well especially when your 70, but I guess that's part of korean culture. He sounds like one of those old hags who scream "get off my lawn" at innocent bypassers.

Respect for elders.... Uh-huh.

Cho sounds like a nutty old bastard. If the reports are accurate.

I always used to say: "unless you got something impressive to show us, your legs need not be wide open".

LumosMist searchme Wednesday, July 13, 2016

I might actually start using that cause people on the bus really don't get the concept of "personal space".

Actually when I think about it, people used to tell ME that.

ElNora searchme Wednesday, July 13, 2016

I always said, "nobody wants to see that"....LOL

As I always say: "unless you got something impressive to show us, then your legs need not be wide open".
