Not content with how fantastic you look or embarrassed carrying around a big selca/selfie stick? Well now there's the selca/selfie lens! You can use this attachable lens to place over your phone camera lens, the selfie lens apparently help you take the best selfies possible, even comparable to digital single-lens reflex camera (DSLR) quality.
At the 0:30 mark in the SBS News clip above, a DSLR shot is compared to a phone picture taken with the selfie lens. According to people interviewed by the news station, there's practically no difference.
At the 0:40 mark, a DSLR camera owner states, "There's no big difference. If an ordinary person saw it, I don't think they'd see a big difference." A selfie lens user adds, "I don't know pictures very well, but when you compare, the [selfie lens picture] doesn't seem bad and looks good."
At the 1:10 mark, another selfie lens user remarks, "With the selfie stick, you have to take it out and adjust the angle and, because it's heavy, it can fall." She suggests that selfie sticks are not as comfortable to use, which makes the invention of the selfie lens all the more imperative. First world problems? Selfie lens to the rescue.
According to the news clip, selfie lens are experiencing a 66% sales volume jump in the past six months, while selfie sticks are selling 4% less. Netizens remain unconvinced, however, as top comments read: "This looks uncomfortable [to use] and it has a spherical effect on the pictures.... The selfie stick looks a lot better and the selfie lens is more expensive than the selfie stick," and, "Saying that there is not much difference between the selfie stick and DSLR is like saying that the Chevrolet Spark is not much different than the Benz Sedan."
