Grandmother from 'My Love, Don't Cross That River' moves to her children's house to avoid reporters

Buzz
Remember that adorable documentary on an elderly couple's 76-year-long love, 'My Love, Don't Cross that River'? Well, apparently the documentary has become so popular that not only has it become a box office hit, earning over a million viewers, the grandmother is now gaining some unwanted attention.

On December 16, the documentary's director Jin Mo Young sent a press release, thanking the public for their interest. The PR also requested that people refrain from contacting the 89-year-old grandmother Kang Kye Yeol and her family, especially after Kang Kye Yeol's husband, Cho Byeong Man passed away.

Jin stated, "After the grandfather passed away, the grandmother lived with a healthy factory girl in that house. She wanted to reside there because it's where she and her lover were together for 76 years."

Jin continued, "However, someone recently called her saying, 'This is XXX, you're currently at home right? Do you mind if I come see you?', causing her to be close to tears and move to her children's home; she is currently living comfortably with her children."

Jin concluded with, "Although I understand that because of people's love for the documentary people are curious about the grandmother's condition, the production crew can answer your questions instead so I kindly ask you to not interview or visit the grandmother directly."

Hopefully, reporters will now leave the grieving grandmother alone after her earnest request.
