17-year-old Lydia Ko is winning at life, becomes youngest golfer to win the LPGA Rookie of the Year award

Buzz
When I was 17-years-old, I was dawdling in high school bemoaning the amount of homework I had to do. Lydia Ko is 17-years-old, and instead of being trapped in the mundane high school life, she's busy kicking ass.

The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) has awarded New Zealand golfer South Korean Lydia Ko with the LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year award, making Ko the youngest golfer to have ever won this award.

Although Ko has been winning tournaments even as an amateur golfer when she was 15 years-old, she kicked things up a notch when she turned professional. She had one of the best years of any rookie professional golfer. For the year of 2014, Ko gained two victories, winning the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic and the Marathon Classic tournaments, two runner-up finishes, and has finished nine tournaments in the top ten. She is also currently number three in the Women's World Golf Rankings as well as number four on the LPGA Tour Money Leaders, earning $1.56 million USD this year.

Meanwhile, I'm just chilling like a villain, NBD.

Currently, Ko is in third place in LPGA Tour's ongoing Race to the CME Globe competition. The winner will be decided next week and will be awarded $1 million USD.

Congratulations Ko, and good luck!
