Prior to GOT7, Jinyoung was the rapper of the duo JJ Project, but he debuted as a vocalist. In contrast, Jackson was originally supposed to be a vocalist but started to train to become a rapper prior to GOT7’s debut.

Before switching to vocals, Yanan and Shiwon intended to become rappers. On the other hand, Wooseok was originally accepted into Cube Entertainment as a model, but changed to a vocalist and finally a rapper afterward.
