The Rising K-POP Groups To Lead The Next Generation

1. NCT
NCT, otherwise known as Neo Culture Technology, is the first to carry the concept of having an unlimited number of members divided into multiple sub-units based in various cities worldwide. NCT has NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream. As of February 2018, the group consists of 18 members.
2. PRISTIN
PRISTIN, previously known as Pledis Girlz, was formed by Pledis Entertainment in 2016. The group is composed of 10 members some of which appeared on Produce 101. Nayoung and Kyulkyung went to be part of the project girl group I.O.I. and eventually returned with the other members to debut with PRISTIN.
3. LOONA
LOONA started their pre-debut promotions in October 2016 by revealing its new members and sub-units periodically. Over 18 months, the members were introduced with individual single releases. By March 2018, the last girl was revealed resulting in 3 sub-units and a total of 12 members as the full group. They're set to make their formal debut in the near future but they've already garnered a lot of attention.
4. (G)I-DLE
(G)I-DLE is short for Girl-I-DLE that was formed under Cube Entertainment in 2018 with six tremendously talented idols. Despite being a newer group, the girls have reached great recognition. Member Jeon Soyeon is an incredibly powerful icon in the K-POP industry thanks to her powerful rapping skills.
5. Pentagon
Pentagon is a 10 member group that debut in 2016 under Cube Entertainment. They went through a survival program "Pentagon Maker" to form the ten-person group. Their talents include incredible vocals, captivating dances, and admirable teamwork. Hui, Pentagon's leader, is the lead for composing their music and have received praise for his work.
6. Wanna One (Caveat*)
Wanna One is an eleven member group that debut under CJ E&M through the 2017 series Produce 101 Season 2 in 2017. Before the survival show, some members have already been involved in the entertainment industry. Park Jihoon was a child actor and appeared in drama series like 'Kimchee Cheese Smile' and 'The King & I.' Hwang Min Hyun made his musical debut as part of NU'EST. The group has only been growing in popularity since their debut. *However, they are disbanding soon and probably won't be around to lead the next generation but if they were to stay together, they would probably be the leader of the next generation.*
7. Oh My Girl
Oh My Girl is a girl group formed under WM Entertainment with seven members. They were publicized as the sister group of label mate B1A4. They originally debut with eight members but due to JinE's health, she had to leave the group. However Oh My Girl never forgot their fellow band mate as they made a reference to her in Coloring Book MV.
8. Seventeen
Seventeen is a group consisting of 13 members under Pledis Entertainment. The group consists of 3 sub-units: 'Hip Hop Unit', 'Vocal Unit', and 'Performance Unit' each to highlight the members' special talents. The group members are all deeply involved in the composition and production of their discography and choreography which prompted their nickname as a self-producing idol group. Their future is bright!
9. MONSTA X
This group from Starship keeps growing in popularity. Their album sales grow with each comeback and they're well equipped to be the leaders of the next generation.
10. Astro
Astor was formed by Fantagio in 2016 with six members. With their first single from their debut EP, they were named by Billboard as one of the best new K-POP groups of 2016.
