K-Pop's Best LGBTQIA-Related Songs and MVs

AKP STAFF
misc.
1. Please Don't - K.will
K.will's "Please Don't" is one of the best examples of LGBTQIA support. The video speaks for itself!
2. The Day Before - Nell
With gorgeous cinematography, every frame in this LGBTQIA-influenced video is a perfect photo-op. Though the stigma is very much alive, Nell's love story in the MV is absolutely relatable.
3. Touch - ANDA
ANDA's "Touch" features a slightly intimate scene between two women, a risky choice because LGBTQIA serves as a taboo issue in the country, however, this tasteful scene is a great start to opening up discourse on the issues that are commonly swept under the table.
4. Because of You - After School
The Jooyeon, UEE, and Kahi love triangle in this MV is a great example of support and openness towards LGBTQIA folks. These themes are apparent in the MV.
5. Love is a Dog from Hell - Mad Clown
Mad Clown's MV for "Love is a Dog from Hell" features a story about a trans folk that goes into the story about the ugly sides of love.
6. Peach - IU
Though this song was supposed to be from a man's POV, we still consider it a great example of LGBTQIA support. In fact, IU actually wrote "Peach" for Sulli!
7. Party (XXO) - GLAM
This older K-Pop song may feature a few familiar faces in the video! In fact, the track was written by vocal LGBTQIA supporter, Kim Namjoon, before he was officially debuted as a part of BTS.
8. Abracadabra - Brown Eyed Girls
Abracadabra was also an MV and song that served as a proponent of LGBTQIA rights. These days, many forget Brown Eyed Girls' influence on K-Pop, but they still, to this day, make a lasting impression with their (almost) kiss at the end of the MV.
9. Wish Tree - Red Velvet
A heart-wrenching Christmas love story is told in the MV for this song. While "Wish Tree" doesn't have explicit LGBTQIA-related lyrics, the group's video for the song says it all.
10. Fools (COVER) - RM & Jungkook (BTS)
BTS' RM and Jungkook took to Troye Sivan's "Fools" and did a wonderful and calming rendition of the openly LGBTQIA-focused track. RM is openly supportive, and the group is always aiming to better society through their music and fandom.
