1. N.tic
First on the list of boy groups is N.tic. They were formerly referred to as New-Ace, but have since decided to change their name to N.tic for official promotions. N.tic is short for New Trend Icon, which the group hopes to become! The group is currently under Yaechan Entertainment, formerly known as JJ Entertainment, and is set to debut February 26, 2018.
2. TARGET
Not to be confused with everyone's favorite store, TARGET was originally an 8-member boy group that formed under TNS Entertainment. After switching companies from TNS to JSL and losing K.een, one of the members of the group, they released their pre-debut track, "Please Love Me" in 2014. Now, we await their confirmed debut for this year! Hit The Target!
3. Highschool
Producer and singer, Rich, invested his time to create, Highschool, under Rich World Entertainment. With the inspiration deriving from the purity of a young high school aged girl, Rich created this girl group with youthful vigor in mind. The group is shrouded in a lot of mystery, so we're looking forward to hearing and seeing a lot more about them this year!
4. Noir
Luk Factory's newest confirmed 8-member boy group is called Noir. They have been around for a few months and many of them are easily spotted in dance covers pre-debut. Unlike other groups, Noir has been pretty open with showing their faces and not covering themselves in mystery like many of their hype-building counterparts. This group is low-key with insane visuals and is definitely on the list as one of the groups to watch this year!
5. LOONA
LOONA has been on the tip of everyone's tongues in the K-Pop universe. Since October 2015, and lasting for 18 months, there has been a recurring release of a single album of extended play that introduces a new member of sub-unit to the group. This year, the project finally completes, and all 12 members will debut as LOONA! The girls of LOONA have been training hard and we are beyond excited for this group and what they have to offer!
6. Stray Kids
JYP's newest creation from the show "Stray Kids" is well, Stray Kids, themselves! Though it was between the group being a 7-member boy group or a 9-member boy group, JYP opted to keep the nine since 96% of "Stray Kids" viewers preferred OT9 to OT7. Get to know Bang Chan, Kim Woojin, Lee Minho, Seo Changbin, Hwang Hyunjin, Han Jisung, Felix, Kim Seungmin, and Yang Jeongin now before the fans rush in! The group is set to formally debut in February.
7. Girlkind
Girlkind is a new girl group from Next Level Entertainment that may contain some familiar faces! The group is one of the first to debut this year with their full album and M/V drop coming in hot on January 17, 2018. Official member photos and more have already been released, so check out this new hiphop girl group's music! We are excited about a hip-hop girl group concept in this new year and hope Girlkind brings great music to the table.
8. Fromis_9
CJ E&M formed this idol girl group from 2017 Mnet reality show, "Idol School". Fromis_9, intended to mean "from idol school," as well as be thought of as 'promise' has nine beautiful members that are keeping their promise to be 'the best girl group!' Like Girlkind, Fromis_9 is going to emerge and debut at a similar time, so keep an eye out for their album release on January 24, 2018.
9. GBB(Gawi-Bawi-Bo)
It has been speculated that three Sol-T members will be part of the debut of Probeat Entertainment's "GBB" or "Gawi-Bawi-Bo". The girl group, whose name means, "Rock, Paper, Scissors" is set to debut sometime this year, but much of this is speculative due to disappearing instagram accounts belonging to different thought-to-be members.
10. NEWKIDD
J.Flo Entertainment's newest boy group this year will be NEWKIDD. The name NEWKIDD combines the phrases 'new face' and 'new generation key of the dream,' indicating the group's hope for growth into their debut and through their career. The most followed member of this group currently is Ji Hansol, who was a prominent figure on "The Unit". The group set their pre-debut release date for November of last year and has garnered quite a bit of attention since with their debut set for this month.
