K-Pop's One Hit Wonders

AKP STAFF
misc.
1. Crayon Pop
Though the members of Crayon Pop have a number of highly-listened to tracks, their famous track, "Bar Bar Bar" will still maintain their notoriety as a one-hit wonder. It seems that the group never gained the traction needed to maintain their spot at the top of the charts, but Crayon Pop is still an extremely coveted group in the K-Pop scene.
2. NU'EST
NU'EST made history at one point with their song, "Face" being the #1 most viewed debut boy group MV on YouTube, but never seemed to be able to chase the hype of "Face" after its release. In fact, a number of their comebacks from that point onward proved futile and it wasn't until 'Produce 101' brought NU'EST back to the spotlight.
3. Kiss&Cry
Before MAMAMOO, there was Kiss&Cry, but they were as short-lived as their popularity. Unfortunately for them, the group debuted but subsequently disbanded shortly thereafter. Their hit, entitled, "Domino Game" was well-received, but due to the group's unsightly duration, their possible promotions were cut short. We wish we could have seen what they were capable of!!
4. The Ark
Similarly to Kiss&Cry, The Ark disbanded before we had a chance to properly get acquainted! They were well-known for their cute appearances and singing abilities, as well as their BTS cover videos! We fell in love, and then had our hearts broken when they disbanded. Their hit, "The Light" remains in our heart!
5. Lipservice
Lipservice underwent a number of member additions and subtractions, causing the instability of the group to be the group's downfall. Although all the members are insanely talented with looks to boot, the group never promoted on a stable schedule. Their biggest hit to date is "Yum Yum Yum", though their other songs did decently among critics as well.
6. Brave Girls
When the Brave Girls made their comeback with "Deepend", fans responded extremely well internationally to the track. In addition, their live performances were streamed and talked about on many K-Pop forums, however, all the comebacks to follow "Deepend" were lackluster in comparison. Though the group was talented, beautiful, and great at rapping, they didn't have what it takes to last long in the industry!
7. Purfles
Purfles is a gateway artist - in that many K-Pop fans have listened to them one time or another while venturing into new K-Pop song territory. The group's debut song, "1,2,3" was a powerful and great introductory track for the group, however, Purfles' other releases just weren't as well-received. After losing the uniqueness that was in their debut track, Purfles' has had a hard time earning their place into the spotlight.
8. HIGH4
Though HIGH4 still comes out with a number of new releases and content on YouTube, they will forever be known for "Not Spring, Love, Or Cherry Blossoms". Their collaborative track with IU garnered the group a huge amount of attention despite their rookie status, however they were never successful in getting the ball rolling with their notoriety from that point forward.
9. Wa$$up
Wa$$up had it all: visuals, singing, dancing, and personalities to boot! The lovely ladies of the group became popular with "Stupid Liar", however, the group just didn't have another track that stuck with fans since the powerful rhythm of "Stupid Liar" hit the airwaves. We hope to see Wa$$up change up their sound to create the track we know they're capable of!
