She's clearly being sarcastic. Like 'yay the nasty hater person likes only me, I'm so honoured' kinda sass.
She was being sarcastic and humorous about it but I also understand why she got backlash. The fact she responded to only that one when she barely interact with her fans in twitter... not a good move. It will only make people make more of those kind of comments in different ways.
Maybe they don't meet their own requirements? Like they're short and poor, but they demand tall with a big bank account?
Time to lower then standard. I guess that what makes it's a ideal qualification because the people they want probably won't date them
So they all just want to marry themselves as the opposite gender, kinda narcissistic if you look at it too closely.
Like they each have similar requirements of each other... so why aren't they marrying each other then?
I watched the blue dragon award entirely and many celeb actually cheered him up and applauded his performance.
I don't get all the hatred and trolling this man is getting. That’s when you realize beauty privilage is a thing not only in korea but all over the world.
He's actually very talented considering his age and I’m glad he’s doing something he likes. Let’s not be harsh on him …
I may have said pretty privilege is a thing but I'm not sure if it applies here since JYP have a history of criticising others especially minors which makes the hate return back to him. I don't hate him or anything like that. I actually enjoyed his performance and I hope he continues making more but this is one of those cases were it's probably karma.
YG... I mean, we all knew they barely released any. It's unfortunate. I know people are going to use the excuse of quality over quantity but they can hire other music producers to create more quality. I feel like only their boy group make sense considering the members write the music and if they are restrict with NOT wanting anyone else to compose except themselves then that's their choice. YG aside, I have to say, SM made me laugh. NCT is about to catch up to Red Velvet and EXO with just one more album despite these groups being older and supposedly "active" group is crazy to me. SM should focus less on NCT.
Every song needs a "TikTok challenge" and I get they're trying to market, but it's so annoying. Also challenges that actually work usually come about organically from fans or random people.
Idols in the recent years are trying to force it. Dance challenges only truly trend when random people start to join. I need a singing challenge from idols. I had enough with these dance challenge.
A german here - yes you are crossing the line comparing whats happening to the holocaust. Do you know how many people died bc of the holocaust? 6 million jews, 17 million people total. There was never a massacre this big in human history and thats why no one easily compares something to the holocaust. If you make this comparison for everything, it will lose its meaning.
The death toll in gaza cannot even jump that high bc there are living less people.
In my opinion the post Eric liked is a good one. Yeah, the israel governement is doing shit - but the hamas is shit too. This conflict is not easy and there is no easy solution fair to everyone. And for everyone who has no good solution ready its the right thing to stay neutral. You are only deepening the hate, which is the soil for the conflict to grow on forever. Congrats.
These very same Jews forgot their history. They forgot who took them in seeing how they are drenching themselves in bloodbath. You said the number will never be that high because the population is only 2 million but half of that population are CHILDREN. Children born after 2005. Israel have bombed 4 different countries during this genocide. Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and Egypt but we still have people coming here saying, "BUT HAMAS!" Hamas was created by Israel ITSELF. Just because, it backfired, on their ass, it doesn't mean they are not the culprit. The settlers have military backing, airforce, military budget while Palestine doesn't. Somehow, this one sided fight seems logical enough for you to say, neutral stance. Israel can cut off electricity, water and food yet somehow hamas is a problem because hamas can TOTALLY cut off Israel's water, electricity and food, note my sarcasm. Hamas can TOTALLY commit war crimes and get away with it like Israel did.
Hamas is shit.
Israeli government is also shit.
You can have both these opinions without being antisemitic or anti-palestine.
I don't care how many dislike I'll get for this but Israeli have been killing indiscriminately, their allies are denying humanitarian aid to Gaza, continously destorying hospitals and have wiped out bloodlines. What Eric Nam should have done is either NOT make a statement at all, or take a side. This whole neutral side is bullshit because one is a coloniser and the other is colonised. Maybe next time, I would like to hear how everyone think the Holocaust needed a neutral stance too or am I crossing the line with this comparison? I guess the death rate needs to jump a couple of million until the neutral stance people finally sees the light.
If anyone smoke cigs or those flavor vape I would hope they don’t do it next to me. The smell is bothering
I hate when people smoke too but I feel like, if he is smoking in the waiting room, it's probably accepted by everyone since idols aren't allowed to do it in public and all the staff probably asked him to do it inside? But I've seen the original video on twitter and it seemed like it was completely false so there is nothing to add here lol just people spreading fake rumors again to harm the idols image.
There is a reason for pre-orders, how can you not produce enough when fans are willingly paying for them?
Like what was the point of pre-order? So they can know how much album they can ask their suppliers to produce. It feels like they don't want money 😐
Such a bad influence. Now children will do oversexualized performances on TikTok
It's been toned down but people are underestimating the influence famous idols like Jennie got. I understand she got no responsibility to care about minors, minors should care about themselves but some people are putting the influence midly when they dismiss it like that. If she started like this instead of a cute, girl crush idol, she wouldn't have gotten the fame she got now.
The fact she accepted a role just to get a few seconds of screen time that only gains her more haters than fans... she should have read that script and realized that people genuinely would not look at her in respect. The way fame ruin people is definitely the message I got from this show.
It's funny to see SM agree with their demands pretty quickly. It's clear they were in an unfavorable position and also really wanted to keep them in their company since they make one of the biggest contributions. I would also say this leaves a statement to other idols that if they find anything unfavorable in their contract, they can now push the company to meet it. It's a good move even though I'll never trust SM.
"Death Note' was the only animation that succeeded as a film."
Now hold on...
That had me double take, like did someone pay someone to say this? Lol it better not be the Netflix live action because that wasn't it.
I personally have nothing against him but I think why some people are upset is to do with the fact that he's a high-profile actor who is already established in the industry, even if it does affect his opportunities, the damage would be minimal so it sounds a bit dramatic for him although what he said can very much be true for upcoming actors if they were in the same situation
I can tell you had nothing against him because your comment was polite, into the point and not making unnecessary jabs at his personal life. I'm not into him either, I'm just providing a different perspective. I do think he should have been more self aware and tactful when answering that question. The backlash, however, is a bit too extreme from what I saw on twitter and here, as well, considering he is not discrediting anyone.
Never thought I'd say this but I agree with the netizens this time, there are many actors that are married with kids that are casted for main roles and still have thriving careers such as Lee Byung Hun, Ji Sung, Jang Hyuk, Cha Seung Won, etc. They can also progress into more mature roles in the future so for high-profile actors, they will always have roles available for them unlike the idol industry which exploits parasocial relationships between fans and artists, making it much harder for idols to continue their careers after marriage
While I completely agree with your statement, I don't believe he meant to start a big discourse(?) It feels like it's blown way out of proportion by the amount of people taking full offense. Without much context so far, what am getting is an interviewer asked about his struggles and he thought about what he is currently going through. Just my two cents because I seen so many people hating him.
I guess ‘The Idol’ will get Jennie more exposure; however, possibly not in a positive way. Both her role and her lines are typically ‘western’ tacky and trashy. Again, why I don’t count Blackpink as a ‘Korean’ girl group. Real Korean GGs tend NOT to be trashy.
Seeing what she is doing with the Idol, it's a shame to see her go down this road. The marvel movie makes more sense and a better brand to associate with, this however, it's Western garbage. If Jennie keeps hanging out with the wrong crowd, we will be seeing more controversy from her in the future. I hope after this is done, she stops picking these types of role.
What are these comments? Some people really think he ruined the BL drama just because he married? Did they think he would marry his fellow actor or what? Sometimes it doesn't feel like I'm in the real world when people act like their delusional should have been reality. I thought kpop fans were a bit crazy when it came to idols but BL fans giving them a ran for their money. If it was any other actor from popular shows, the fans wouldn't care.
This is probably just the beginning of SM’s problems.
I'm reading the comments and I don't think people comprehend how messy this is. If all of them, got the SAME contract they did... they are NOT the only ones suing. It's either that or they stay for their 17-18 anniversary. JYJ slave contract was 12-13 years and I find it crazy how SM actually didn't learn and instead, doubled it for 2 decades almost? If they have all have that contract, we will be seeing more terminations.
My cousin was very clam and normal before joining the marines. Afterwards, he had anger issues for a long time and would get mad very easily at the slightest inconvenience. I know people think the military teaches people discipline and control, but I think that very same discipline and control causes a lot of emotional issues.
That's interesting. This made me wonder me if they get more irritated because they lived by order and rules for the longest time that now, when they went back, everyone else do not live by that order or rules therefore, we break the cycle which brings them irritation.
I get seriously confused when people question her acting ability. I first saw her on That Winter the wind blows ( my first kdrama) and literally thought she was blind. So I googled her than watched all her movies. She got me into kdrama’s and I have only had a desire to rewatch her stuff because they were so good. And how does one become the highest paid A lister if she isn’t good at her work? Even after watching The Glory she totally stole each scene with her energy expressions and line delivery. I guess coming from the West I have a different appreciation for her style of acting. Anyways, haters will hate.
I don't know her, haven't seen a single drama she's been in but I'll definitely watch Glory soon. However, I have a famous actor who doesn't really impress me and that's Lee Jong Suk. So for me, what doesn't impress me about him is the fact is his acting gives NOTHING. Yes, he is okay but it's not wow, it doesn't evoke emotions from me, it's just okay, like an acting that just "pass" but serves nothing. His roles doesn't feel different from each other. I'm only saying this as an explanation on why other people question actresses/actors. It may apply to her or may not.
He just said it was the "agency" that was lazy and even that was a joke. However, he is not wrong. How are people really defending companies? I thought everyone was tired of how these companies are mistreating their idols in work related details but I guess that's not the case.
What a polite response to a judgemental statement about his looks. It's kinda sweet that he took that picture despite the circumstances and I hope he is doing well and finally getting enough rest now.
