Yup. Just like it surprises us how close minded cultures are. Not to be rude, but a LOT of what Korea finds inappropriate is nothing to us. I would normally say that's OK (because it's Korean culture and there's nothing wrong about that) but unfortunately those things put idols in bad positions just for doing normal stuff. If the industry was more open over there, I guarantee weights would be lifted off of a lot of shoulders. Its not bad the two cultures are different (west and Korean) just that, as shocking as you find questions about sex, we find it shocking a person can't even date without it being a scandal ๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ
In which case maybe it is nice to try and align your questions with the culture of the people you're interviewing? No one here cares how open Mexico or other western countries are.
It always surprises me how open some cultures are. But Siwon really answered well.
Same. I get really apprehensive when artists go on western shows in case some super inappropriate question is asked. And lmao at people using words like repressed and open minded. God forbid some culture in the world is still a bit modest and decent. Everyone knows stuff happens behind the scenes but it doesn't hurt to stay decent in public. The western countries' "open minded and progressive" approach to such stuff is almost disgusting to me sometimes.
He's really messed up if all this shit is true damn.
The only good thing about Blinks is that "the most toxic fandom" title is gonna be hand overed very soon to Blinks!
Yeah, happens when groups are pushed too hard in America. The only good thing about American fame is the money it makes for the artists. Otherwise you start getting tons of cringey 14 year old american girls that turn the fandom super toxic.
lmfao time for BANGgayTAN fans to realize their faves aren't special....
I haven't seen a single Lay or Crush fan be obnoxious or loud about this, it was this article and comments that told me they were going too. BTS fans act like American fame is the best and most superior thing when really it has ruined the group's (and fandom's) image for most people.
LOL.
Firstly, don't you ever compare BTS to Frank Sinatra. That's an insult.
Secondly, if you look closely, Frank Sinatra's win in Best Recording Package in 1959 comes with three big nominations in MAJOR CATEGORIES. BTS (or the designer) didn't even win Best Recording Package yet, so stop citing Sinatra as an example. Also, did BTS get any major nomination? NO.
Thirdly, stop shaming BTS by sensationalizing things and comparing them to icons.
Lastly, BTS has zero nomination, according to grammy.com. Give credits to the designer and stop making BTS appear like a credit-grabber.
I'm surprised to know that Crush and Lay are also going. Maybe because their fans are mature and not overreacting to things more than they need to be. BTS fans put too much focus on American fame and recognition.
I'm from a conservative country lol and I do wonder if they'll stay unmarried forever, what if they want kids? (don't come at me with your opinions, I know things are super different in the West)
His wife is the daughter of a company?
Tbh I kinda like how Korea still has some morals (very subjective I know) with regards to family life and pre marital relationships. I see where her dad is coming from because I too am from a conservative country...
Still baffles me how grown adults put themselves into situations that can only ruin them...
