This sort of announcement shows me that a lot of older idols and actors in relationships might feel a little pressured to announce something before a fan sees and speculations starts to turn on them in a way that could negatively affect the relationship. A shame that the media always finds a way to funnel the country's discontent and lack of equality onto the backs of female entertainers to be perfect.
It's like the "artists" intentionally put in the N word in their lyrics, so they can get offended whenever a non black person sings along.
It’s like non-White people (no matter their marginalizations) just refuse to treat black people with simple consideration.
Crystal generation strikes again.BTW nothing more racist than not being able to say a word because of your skin color
Here’s something more racist: ignoring 250+ years of history and reducing this situation down to “people are racist for not letting other people” use slurs.
I guess netizens have found someone to lynch again.
If this isn't gatekeeping then what the hell is this? Maybe you should learn what the words really mean before telling others to.
Gatekeeping is where a group of people allows what can and cannot be interacted with from their culture. This is just netizens policing a female artist (IU in this case) just to let out general frustration in an increasingly desperate social climate Korea is in right now.
Hope you understood those words.
You cannot gatekeep words, phrases etc. This should never have been paid any attention to.
This isn’t gatekeeping. Learn what words mean.
If you’ve never heard “Love Wins” as a pride phrase, then you’re either too young or too ignorant to know queer history.
That said, this is somewhat unnecessary criticism from the public towards IU (as always) and she shut them up really fast.
With this type of songs she gonna flop.
She needs to find her own sound, not play at being an idol.. i feel sad to see a talent like Ailee with that shitty sounds.
What? Ailee has something almost no one has: a hit national song known globally that almost no one can sing.
“I will go to you like the first snow” is a career and vocally defining song.
She has long since earned the ability to do whatever she pleases.
Sounds like his family didn’t care and he needed to get tf out of korea. After leaving YG, what could he have done back then? Nothing.
Look at all the Koreaboos mad that Lisa might be done with the unrealistic expectations that come with being an idol. She breaks records for doing nothing. YG wasted opportunities on her. Now it’s time for her to do whatever she wants. She earned it.
AND she worked hard to be a K-Pop idol. She can use it however she sees fit.
As a black dancer who has been to Korea multiple times to take classes, go to dance battles and be on tv…this season feels highly manipulated by mnet, or they cast particularly desperate people. Redlic’s treatment of Latrice, touching during battle, and everything going on with Lia and Mina…it’s not a good representation of battle dancers in Korea.
But it is a good representation of the toxic idea most dance teachers have of hip hop culture in the dance studios in Korea.
I don’t know that YG has ever had this happen. And in fact, I think it’s rare for a member as prized as Ye Dam to leave so early on. But also….YG really messed him up, so I’m glad he’s realized he can leave and have a better career compared to what YG currently offers as their artist path. If you really want to make music and perform, they don’t allow enough opportunity.
You know…without Himchan being total trash…
So like Sketchbook and Unplugged? Amazing!
Absolutely disgusting. This kind of misogyny can only mean he is equally homophobic. This show really has no intention with treating Eoddae respectfully. So those of you in these comments making homophobic statements against the producer...you're showing yourselves...I've reported you.
This is turning out to be as homophobic and sexist as I thought it would be. Dancers I've been following for a few years...just disgusting. MNet is really the worst for allowing this to happen.
Those of you talking about samples when this is interpolations are just as clueless as the people complaining about Beyoncé’s use of interpolation on Renaissance.
Both interpolation and sampling are used in hip hop as a device to create a certain effect. I think pink venom has a curious overuse of interpolation that actually helps the raps sound very cool. That’s what Teddy is good at.
Unfortunately, the melodies for Rose and Jisoo are so bad and poorly sectioned off in the song. And the bridge is anticlimactic.
The song is poorly composed.
And this is what I’m talking about. People are speculating pedophilia and in appropriate actions of a female CEO with a long history while this dude will just get a slap on the wrist, if anything and be forgotten about.
SM fans stay doing the most toxic things to their boy group members. Oh well! I’m happy he’s still performing.
In the month full of legendary gg comebacks IVE really came out with the best song. This is a historic run of songs.
Or…I don’t know…let the girls make their own music? Since that is supposed to be the strength of yg groups. They can do it.
Assault with a knife and he's not going to prison? Does SK even care if people get killed?
They care if men get killed.
So, they are copying the biggest group in the world? So what. That's what SM always does. It just happens to be the group by one of their former artistic directors, working at the company that the founder of SM tried to use to take over SM with hostile tactics. Totally doesn't sound petty and uncreative.
This has nothing to do with RIIZE and everything to do with SM's creative team feeling lost conceptually with RIIZE. Min Hee Jin left the company and the executives are floundering this generation. Of course, the boys in RIIZE are talented enough to handle anything they are given, but now that they've debuted, in order to become a household name, they need to have multiple comebacks that are all captivating of the general public's interest, and SM doesn't currently have that.
