Wow this is actually really good <3
I think she’s having a midlife crises cause this is crazy lol
I think at this point she should just bow down graciously... and take the L.
Some people were still kind of on the fence with calling her crazy but I think this put a nail in that coffin... the lady is cray...
Granted she produced New Jeans, but she used HYBE's trainees, Hybe's money and resources. New Jeans isn't even original. They are basically updated KPop 1st Gen style, when they were literally copied from American Pop/RnB back in the 90's. What made New Jeans shine isn't her, or her concept, it was the members who did the work and they shined coz they are very pretty. She is just riding New Jeans' coattails. She is just butthurt she got caught before she actually got her plan into action. She is like The Givers version 2. I mean even her upcoming boy group is basically TXT version 2.
This is my main problem with Hybe's accusation. How is MHJ supposed to wrest the company out of their hands when Hybe owns 80% of it. That would be extremely difficult to achieve.
It's not that hard, they were basically trying to get investors that has more money than HYBE. They leaked private info and try to frame it on HYBE as a breach of trust, and they can force HYBE to sell their shares as usual contracts has an amendment clause for a shareholder's exit. It a similar thing Kakao and LSM's nephew did to LSM and HYBE. They just need a buy out from a different company. And it looks like she already has other directors willing to take the fall. "allegedly"
MJH be like:
NGL, it sounds like "Queery" so is it gonna be like an openly gay boyband? genuinely asking... I mean there's already a boyband with hearing impediment... I mean if it's not, it's a pretty bad name tbh.
It's funny that some of you guys are missing the point. She got caught trying to do shady things and is basically trying to distract the public by making it a New Jeans vs ILLIT and some of you guys are playing exactly how she is hoping the public will react. Although she "created" New Jeans, she sold 80% of her shares to HYBE. And now she realized how much money she is missing out from how big New Jeans is and she wants more cut from it so she is trying to do a hostile takeover. This is nothing short of what LSM's nephew did making youtube videos of how "evil" HYBE is. If she didn't want to share, she shouldn't have sold 80% of her company to HYBE.
I think people should know what the meaning of the word properly first before they start using it to accuse someone with that word. Misogyny would be, for example, "all women should stay in the kitchen." "I prefer male doctors because women are dumber than men." That's misogyny... I fail to see the "misogyny" in the first lyrics. The description from the stanzas depicted an ill-mannered woman. As a female, I would say that would describe the proverbial "Bitch". Calling someone a "Bitch", if she is a bitch is not misogyny, it's calling her for what she is. The second song is more storytelling about a stalker. It's fiction.
Congratulations to P1Harmony! It's a long time coming for the win!
It's funny how people in the comments are coming after Junhyung when him and Zico were on the same boat. Zico even told variety shows about JJY's "golden phone" and was fully aware of what was going on but no one is pointing fingers at him and even became a producer @ HYBE and even created a group for HYBE. Junhyung never really did anything, he just kept quiet and minded his own business. He was friends with them because they were born in similar years. As soon as he was implicated, just for being in the chatroom (by association). Didn't really comment in the chatroom either. Was literally just there when they ask him to go hang or exchange pleasantries. He apologized and even left his group to not implicate them. Even became a witness to the same trial.
I don't think Junhyung was actually part of the actual chatroom. He knew about JJY having sex and even saw some of the vids but he didn't know that JJY was actually doing SA. He didn't pry nor dwelled deeper on the subject.
The performance is part of the fanservice. If he just wants to perform, then he should have just been a singer. Like the Korean Idol business is literally copy paste from the idol business of Japan. The song and dance is literally to move their merchandise. Not just the albums but the other stuff too. It's why they even have "concepts". And add a lot of other non music merch. Actual Korean singers just need to sing/perform and sell their records/stream. They also don't need to uphold any "idol etiquette". Korean Singers openly drink and smoke and don't get criticized because their only job is to sing/perform.
You forgot the key term "traditionally". Although I agree to what you most said, Starting from late 2nd gen, some (not all) agencies were blending the importance of having a solid album. It's not like before where there really is only one good song (title song) and the rest are trash just fill the album. Newer gen actually have a pretty solid albums. Although I know what you mean because I am Korean. Idols aren't considered singers like how International fans seem to think K-Idols are. They are Idols, not singers. The International fans don't quite get the distinction. They think K-Idols are musicians. Which is not the concept of what being an idol is in Korea. They are idols who just happens to sing and dance for the fans. Singers have to sing live. Idols don't. The dance aspect is more important than their singing. A singer has their songs to speak for themselves while the reason an Idol's song go big is because of the idol's name and popularity and not really because of the song. Traditionally, that is. I sometimes find it funny when International fans think Korean fans are too over the top when requesting for things because they totally miss the key points of an idol concept. Idols wear a mask, what you see as them in the camera or fan meets or during their idol comebacks is not the real them. The International fans don't understand that even the idols' attitude is fake and it's just an act to attract fans. It's a mask they wear to get more fans.
Yeah, I completely don't get the concept of owning another human being, it's completely alien to what I grew up with.
.
Are there any groups which aren't idols and are able to live their lives professionally as musicians without all this awful baggage following them? Like world class bands and groups in the west?
It's more about the terms of the contract he willingly signed. He knew what he was getting into so I don't feel bad about it. It's about taking responsibility to the craft/job/career he willingly signed up for. Also, there are quite a few K-idols who have transitioned out of being an idol, and that usually is after they finish their contract and they are able to have more clout because of their popularity (thanks to their fans) to have the contract more on the terms they want. Again, they are not musicians like the West. They fully know the difference between what an idol and a singer is in Korea. Musicians from the West =/= Idols in Korea.
So you're saying he supposedly did not say he wants to concentrate on content when making content? You're saying he did not say if Teumes want something he will do it for them? You're 100% sure the only thing he said was he only wants to be a singer? Then why are people who were actually watching that weverse live feel that the article has twisted his words for clickbait?
It's the way he said it. The terms he used to emphasize is basically "I'll do it coz you guys want it but I hate doing these things." Then basically said he just want to perform, make music/concentrate on performances. He wants to be a 가수 not an 아이돌. He offended his fans enough that they didn't even use "Idol A" and just flat out showed his face.
Because Korea has a different definition on what an idol, an artist, and a singer/musician is. He signed up as an idol so all idol rules apply to him.
Reading through the comments here makes me think there is a great disambiguation on terms used. People can't seem to properly differentiate what an idol(아이돌) or a singer(가수) is in Korea. There's actually a big difference in terms of marketing and a job description expected by the GP. For one, he is an idol. His main job is to cater to fans. As callus and frank this may sound, that is the career he threw himself into. What is concerning is that he is openly complaining on things even his sunbaes in the industry do without complain. Which some can be interpreted as looking down towards them. If he wants a long lasting career. He really needs to eat some humble pie. He is not only causing trouble to himself, he is troubling his members.
So the real reason for the delay is because YG gave everyone new noses...
I think she got it done before the competition because of the unnatural height and smoothness of the bridge, and the sides are thicker than they should. I work at a surgery center atm, and it takes up to a year for the nose to actually have it's final form. The swelling takes a while and the cartilages will continue to heal. We get a lot of patients come in post surgery "unhappy" with their nose and we tell them they have to wait. Also, I actually prefer the noses done in Thailand and Philippines more as it looks more natural and harder to spot while in Korea, the clients prefer a "Western" nose like really high bridges even if it doesn't fit the face, but since they paid for it, we just follow along even if we tell them a different nose would match their face more.
Even though I am Korean lived in Korea majority of my life, I know that the Grammy's was never about records sold or is a popularity contest. The 10asia article never showed any valid reasoning or even tried to explain how the Grammy's pick the winner. The article on 10asia literally is just putting a tantrum and were just saying that Xx sold a lot of records so they should win. Xx won online voting popularity so they should win. Their opinion doesn't make any sense aside from an obvious propaganda. For example, people made fun of the Grammy's for picking Cardi B as a winner for rap album but did anyone even bother to check why she won? The critics/reviewers/panel themselves gave her album a lot of critical acclaim because everything just fits in terms of musicality (arrangement, hook, beat, pacing, etc.) Her songs were dissected to a tee before giving her the award instead of Mack Miller, who every other person thought should have won because his lyrics spoke to them. But the critics/reviewers/panel thought it was monotonous and pretty scripted musically so he lost.
idk who took the photos but that person is kind of amateurish for a magazine spread. Not even Eunwoo's gorgeousness can mask the lack of quality in the taken photos.
yeah... the worst one is the one where he was biting his finger. the focus was on the ring not even on Eunwoo. Should have focused on his eyes instead... And the lighting and shadows are off like the one with his arms are up and the rest of him was in the shadow, this could have been a great shot if they put the lighting up towards him so streaks of light would pierce through adding a dramatic silhouette . Most the pics look like the photographer was more focused on taking pictures of the jewelry LOL. to be fair, pics 2, 4, and 5 were decent. But at the same time pretty text book.
everyone knows IZONE is 4th gen. they were the 4th gen leader during their time. they debut in 2018. itzy debut 2019. so makes no sense for them to be 3rd gen.
The Korean GP thinks 4th gen started 2020. So in Korea, people think Stray Kids is not 4th Gen. IZONE is definitely not 4th Gen. They think STAYC is the beginning of 4th gen. HYBE tried to market TxT as 4th gen but the general public ignored it as well. The GP mostly follow the decade generation shift.
"I think that the reason they are opting for the 5th gen label is that it would be too competitive to enter the 4th gen now...it's all media play"
"In six months it will be the start of 6th gen lol"
"Y'allllll it is still 4th gen"
The 5th gen thing being pushed are really only towards the Boy groups. In Korea, they are even debating if ITZY is 3rd Gen or Have they crossed 4th. The companies are trying to avoid being compared to BTS so they are trying to distance the newer groups in the form of a difference in Generation. It's better marketing but just saying, Korean GP doesn't buy it, but International fans are more susceptible into buying into it.
That sounds so unpleasant, why does anyone have to abuse anyone else, and it's only held in check by how powerful the other person is? It must be very tiring to go through that system always on your guard for attacks. Or am I getting totally the wrong idea?
It's really about pride. Koreans are prideful people. I was one before, sadly. Well I guess I can still sometimes be prideful ㅋㅋㅋ
May I know what kind of mindset States people have that it conveys to change your Korean mindset? If my question is too uncomfortable, it's okay not to answer it. I'm sorry for bothering with my question and thank you very much.
I guess I just learned to let go or just to take a chill pill. I used to really take everything personally even if it happened years ago. Like a really petty side. But ever since I moved to the US, I have chilled out more and just let the small stuff slide, for example, during work, it's one ear in, out the other. For context as well, the level of pettiness Koreans have can pretty much explain the "bullying" scandals celebrities get accused of nowadays. It could have been an argument or incident from grade school but that classmate of yours will let that incident fester and toil inside until you become successful just so they can ruin you.
I'll generalize for the sake of streamlining to convey my thoughts (obviously there are always exceptions). I've studied under the Korean school system and all I can say is that both sides are corrupt (both the educators and also the students/family). For some reason what little power each side gets, they fully exploit it. If the teacher gets more authority, the students get abused. If the students/parents have more say, the teachers get bullied. So there really are no winners here. People are just drunk on power. The problem really is the Korean mindset. It goes from one extreme side to the other. And they all take everything personally. I used to think the same until I moved to the States for college.
All I can say is:
He was also responsible for wasting CL's US career.
Fifty Fifty really be committing to the saying "Fake it till you make it"🤣
She is literary dragging New Jeans like Ahn Sung Il was dragging 50-50
