did i ever say to cancel the tour?? where in my comment did i say to cancel the tour??
Winston's point still stands even if you postpone the tour a month.
"failing as hard as she did at her debut showcase " ? what happened ?
She wasn't prepared to sing her solo debut...at her debut showcase which is just beyond awkward.
If it's "long prepared" in terms of her training, her actual performance, etc. - the scandal had nothing to do with it. She could've done an acoustic version of the song as opposed to failing as hard as she did at her debut showcase.
Somi did go solo after being in a group though. Some of the Wanna One guys who went solo (although a few will join groups later) have pretty weak vocals. JBJ members who went solo as well.
That's what I'm saying though, it wasn't her decision. It's the company that gave her guidelines on what will happen during this "showcase", thus giving people the wrong impression of her as an artist.
Which sort of brings about the point of people going solo who shouldn't go solo...
I do get what you're saying with the company tho and considering how omnipresent and controlling they are, it's a shame because the result is both people doubting her ability to sing solo in the first place and the fact that the showcase went so poorly may affect her in the future and whether her label decides to push her considering she's disappointed them now (whether it's her own fault or poor management or both) and that's just a catch 22.
Why not delay it a few weeks? Or just get up there and do a sit down acoustic rendition of the song without the "performance" aspect but singing it? And then apologize for it not being exactly as her debut song if she felt the need. Because now people are doubting she can sing in the first place which is worse. How long was she training? If she's not ready in terms of her voice she shouldn't debut as a solo artist. There's no one to hide behind as a soloist. If her voice is ready but there was an issue with backup dancers or something, see my above suggestions of doing an acoustic version.
What part of "performance" do you not understand? it's not just singing, it's everything that goes into a performance. Who knows if the issue is even with her not being able to, she will most likely have backup dancers, and we don't know how much they have practiced together.
Sure not all debuted soloists are "powerhouses" but most if not all of them have strong vocals because there's nothing to hide behind (no group members, etc.). Especially those who debuted as a solo artists rather than going solo after being in a group.
She wouldn't be getting this much flak if she sat down and sang without going with a big "performance" piece - that would've shown that she can sing and then if she felt it approproate, she could've just apologized for not going full out performance-wise with backup dancers because there were complications. Now people are doubting her ability to sing live in the first place in front of an audience which is worse.
Did I miss something? Since when is Super Junior under Label SJ - is that their own label within SM or what? It's been a minute since I've kept up with them. But also - Kangin is just never coming back which I'm indifferent to but if they're pushing Sungmin out over the whole marriage thing that's hella stupid. If he's happy doing his own thing kudos to him.
I'm surprised they were there that long...
Not true. Adoption is extremely hard, and maybe it should be, but also extremely expensive. If you don't know how to have sex and not get pregnant JUST DON'T. To use abortion to solve your irresponsibility is just wrong!!!
Because a lot of girls get pregnant voluntarily...what about those who are raped, victims of incest, were with some asshole who tampered with the condom, etc. Also the system in a lot of countries don't support single mothers or young families. Lack of maternity/paternity leave, lack of assistance with health, food, clothes, babysitting costs, etc. Laws that are anti-abortion literally care about the "birth" process, they don't give a shit about the child after its in the world.
I have 0 idea who she is
She has GOT to get out of YG - they will never promote her or release anything by her
How gullible do they think the general public is with these half assed explanations? o.O
TVXQ as 5 was fascinating to watch 2008-2010 era - groups pushed back their comebacks when they found out they were making a comeback, MCs of all the shows they guested on were scared jokes they made would be taken the wrong way by their fans. I will forever love how they sounded as 5 and seeing the group fall apart will always be horribly sad.
don't drag YG and Seungri at the same level. Seungri is seungri. he's bad. and YG is being dragged down by him. I feel offended when people take the chance to harm YG ent but don't even use YG to rescue Seungri. no one cares about your love here.
I mean YG is being investigated for tax evasion lol so they're not exactly a shingin example
I think it is a good idea because the company has a professional entertaining contract with artists. If artists outside brands or businesses affect their name and reputation the entertainment company suffers. Taking a step to uphold their reputation by means of intervening in personal businesses while under their contract makes sense if they are posing as overseers assuring the idols business is not illegal. I am surprised YG is not suing Seungri for damages to their company. I think we will see a huge change in their upper management. I think YG will be in name only as a CEO he will most likely have to give up his seat.
The idea in theory works but it would never work in execution. Also it sort of leaves a bad taste in my mouth? The idols are already under contract that basically signs their souls away and then are put into dungeons (where's Lee Hi, CL, etc?) meaning they can't do anything related to the music they're supposed to be making. Have to pay for bills somehow so open up a business? A lot of idols have restaurants, chicken places, etc. Or they help parents open up cafes or something (does this fall under the oversight by the company as well since it's tangentially related and the idol's name might be used?). Furthermore YG is investigated for tax fraud, etc. which doesn't bolster the idea that they have a strong and ethical business acumen. It also seems like a waste of resources. Will there be someone assigned to each private business an idol owns? From my understanding running a business takes up a considerable amount of time, effort and resources. What if YG disagrees with the direction of the business or what the idol wants to do (nothing sordid, like the idol has a restaurant and either wants to expand it into a chain or open up a store in addition to the restaurant) and so they kill the idea because they don't like it?
I would say that, they should just add in clauses in their contract. The artists supposed to be mature enough to know what they are doing is right or wrong. It will be so exhausting for the management to micromanage, but if that is the only way, hope that it will show some result.
Right but the initial contract is being signed by kids basically (with parental approval but I somehow don't see them hiring lawyers to go over these contracts with them - whether they can afford it or whether entertainment companies are sketch and don't want them to).
its time to bring back the real queen CL into the scene!
Is she not in YG's dungeon?
I think that artists should divest in questionable business investments but they are grown adults. I don't think taking control of their investments is the way to do it. I think it more about making their young singers into responsible adults and having expectations for appropriate behaviors.
If companies want to take in teenagers to train they have to do more than feed them, house them and have them dance and sing 24/7 the people involved in the business also have to guide. To be honest i hate the whole taking kids away from their parents for training unless their family situation is bad. There needs to be on site care givers until they reach 18. After that professionals for mental health care etc. who have no allegiances to the company. The system is mostly broken when it comes to creating young adults with good healthy self esteem and moral compasses.
I would like to point out that they often didn't house or feed them lol (ironic lol really, there's nothing funny about it). Maybe they do now but definitely not during the TVXQ, Big Bang days of training. There's a reason the stories come out of these idols sleeping on the streets and either eating ramen or chosing not to eat ramen (meaning not eat anything at all) in order to take the bus.
I agree! Maybe it should depend on the kind of business. If it's a nightclub, massage parlor, or lounge...maybe. But a donut shop...probably not.
So many idols have like chicken places lol, are they going to take control of that too? It seems like a waste of resources?
If they try to do that that's messed up. I get how much of a blow Seungri's entire debacle is to YG but to take control of private businesses that are not related to the person's work for the company just because they're under the company? No.
GG together, not some of them doing separate things because SM doesn't feel like promoting them anymore.
Tbh I consider them unofficially disbanded at this point. They might get together once in a while maybe to promote a single as a group but GG like we're used to are done. Considering the various projects each member has, it's beyond difficult to coordinate. Those who think the ones that left SM will come back are expecting something unrealistic. It has nothing to do with there being bad blood or anything but between coordinating between projects that now span countries since Tiffany is in the US and span across various agencies figuring all of that out (also including who pays for the promotions, studio time, hair/makeup/clothes since) and how do you split the earnings.
he is wd the girl.. very unrealiable.. but its ok the truth will be reveal..sounds very intentional.. i bet the ice rink is large enuf for both of them to collide.
Collisions actually do happen
Nah tbh apology is not enough. She basically did something to ruin someones life. She deserves the same back plus more for starting it.
I'm sorry how did she ruin anyone's life? Lim scored higher than her. There's an investigation happening so it'll settle itself.
Actually there probably were no cameras as competitions in Japan forbid cameras and most people were at another discipline's competition taking place at the same time of the practice anyway. However I do hope the media who did have permission to film was able to get some footage :/
But warm ups are recorded via tv cameras and yet I can't find a video of it anywhere. You can see the warm ups before each group goes on - the channels broadcast it. Japan may forbid personal recording via phones, etc. but official cameras record. Yea they might not catch the collision head on since it was on the side near the wall but they'd still catch Lim clutching her leg. I find it odd that there's noting.
I'd have to see the video.
This write up seems too sensationalistic to be taken at face value.
First of all, if it happened the way this article describes, that would be an assault with a weapon and the cops would be involved.
I've known skaters and they can be competitive but one skater intentionally slashed the leg of another skater intentionally and only Allkpop has a story about it? That doesn't pass the smell test.
Accidents happens but I cant call it intentional without proof. If someone has video of what happened please share.
I've been looking for the video, there isn't one anywhere.
Unfortunately, in Japan, patrons are prohibited from taking videos at figure skating events. There are only press photos to go off of and the occasional sneaked pic from the crowd.
The warm ups are filmed for each group tho. I get Japan being strict on filming using phones but nothing from any of the numerous cameras?
I've been trying to find a video of the collision and there's nothing. Which, not gonna lie, I find odd considering warm ups for each group are filmed and broadcast. Video of Yuzuru Hanyu's collision was uploaded an hour after it happened a few years ago. They're not at his level or fame or popularity but yea, finding it odd...
Btw, is it me or does Bell have an uncanny resemblance to Sasha Cohen from days gone by?
There's a resemblance yea, I think it's the face shape and the hair slicked back into a bun - they part it the same way I think
Upsets have been known to happen. But what I'm saying is that, no matter what position Lim and Bell come in, Lim wins.
Between her and Bell? Maybe - she still has a few things to work on to be consistent and Bell has always had a problem being consistent. Against the current competitors that are considered to be the best? Not yet. Against the upcoming Russian girls who are eligible for international senior competition next season? It'll be seen. I think she's a lovely skater but she still has far to come to podium with any sort of consistency.
You do realize the excuse the agency gave wasn't "she didn't know she hurt someone" but "she couldn't apologize because her music started," right? I highly doubt that she didn't know she "grazed" or "cut" - or whatever you wanna call it - someone when she had to leave rehearsals to treat it... basically you guys are just saying she didn't do it on purpose but my point is that if she didn't apologize even after she "found out" afterwards it seems to me it wasn't accidental at all
The reason given, if that was indeed it, is weird I agree. I'm skeptical until I actually see the statement because the Korean media outlet reporting it isn't known to be the best/not-sensational outlet. I still think there is a strong chance she didn't realize she cut Lim if she didn't feel the blade touch Lim's leg and by the time Lim bent down to grab her leg then Bell was long past her. It's like accidentally cutting yourself on a sharp knife. You feel the one hand being sliced as your chopping something but the hand hoding the knife and doing the chopping feels 0 resistance as it slices your skin. You feel the pain and see the injury but the dominant hand cutting didn't feel a thing as it was happening. I doubt she was paying attention if Lim was at practice after she was done with her routine. Skaters don't necessarily hang out during the competition. Also the news was broken by a Korean media outlet, picked up by English-speaking media outlets hours later. If she didn't know she cut Lim and the reports in English came out later how would she know. The only way being if the coach pointed it out to her specifically that she grazed her. Should she apologize? Yea of course, despite the fact that it was an accident Lim was still grazed. Should it have been blown out to this proportion to the point of threatening Bell and calling her Tonya Harding? No.
The white bitch can die she been bullying and harassing her for months
Proof? Apart from her agency saying that after it came out that Lim would get treated for the graze (which allkpop phrased as her "being stabbed" - mind you that would require stitches) and the KSU didn't support their complaint.
Lim is such a good skater and some have suggested the next Yuna Kim who, I still say, got screwed at Sochi. I hope she crushes Bell and wins the competition. Good Luck!! ^^
Neither Lim nor Bell had any chance of winning the competition unless all of the Russian ladies, Japanese ladies and Kazakhstan lady ate ice repeatedly.
I wasn't sure if it was an accident, but now I'm pretty sure that she's a jealous, cowardly bitch sorry \_(._.)_/
Not related but Lim Eun Soo is so pretty omg
Why would she be jealous? Lim is younger sure but she's also not one of the skaters getting on the podium internationally with any sort of consistency (thus far at least).
Let's all be honest here, we know she doesn't mean it if she has to give an excuse. One of my cousins does ballet and when she kicks someone at the bar, she'll stop to apologize even when her music comes on and it's her turn to do her variation for weekly evaluations. Saying "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hit you" doesn't take more than a few seconds. She's not apologetic.
Okay but to counter that a bit, the ballet shoe doesn't have a sharp blade attached to it, you're facing in the smae direction and you're not going at whatever miles per hour. There's a high chance that Bell didn't stop to say anything because she didn't realize she even touched Lim with her blade. It's not like it was the entire skate (that would've required stiches, Lim got bandaged). If it's just the blade and at that speed - yea you don't feel it. The Korean media broke the story if I'm not wrong and English-speaking news sources picked it up hours later. So if she didn't feel her skate touch Lim and no one informed her of the news reports since they weren't in English what was she supposed to do.
DIdn't apologize because her music started? Ok but what about after? Why did it take so long until news outlet broke the story. It's one of those sorry not sorry moments.
She probably didn't know she cut Lim. Blades of skates are super sharp and at the speed she was going, not to mentione being backwards for most of it right before she turned, chances are she didn't realize her blade even touched Lim until BOOM media, a good portion of said media wasn't in English either (at the time - English-speaking media sources picked it up hours later) so unless someone told her she wouldn't know.
Bullshit she couldn't apologize at the moment because her music started! You just injured another skater and knew but didn't go to see if she was okay! It's like she didn't even care that she could have caused her to end up dropping out of the competition.
Chances are she didn't know she cut Lim. Bell was going backwards for a majority of the time, she was going fast and Lim only got a graze (and yes I say only - it sucks and messes with you but considering how sharp skates are, a graze is luck). Chances are Bell didn't even feel her blade touch Lim and was gone past her before she saw Lim clutc her lef.
Even after apologizing, she should be suspended from participation for a period of time at a minimum
Why...when it was an accident...
LOL wonder why she didn't apologize after practice then... if she did apologize she would've stated she already did... lol she only apologized once this got media attention...
Also the point isn't even "how badly" she was injured... whether it's a lot or a little - she did get injured is the fact - you're just trying to divert the attention somewhere else
Considering how fast she was going, the fact that her back was to Lim the majority of the time and the understand of HOW SHARP skates are - chances are she didn't realize she even touched Lim because she wouldn't have felt Lim's leg. It was a graze meaning it was only part of the blade that touched her - Bell deff didn't feel it.
I need to see the whole video to belive it...
It's been uploaded, looks like an accident.
you cant accuse anyone of sending hate comments to her, how do you know she is one of those who sent those comments to her? so unless you saw her sending those comments to her
You're kidding right? There's 0 logic in that. And honestly you just need to go on Twitter or Instragram to see all the vile hate she's getting for an accident. It was deemed to not be on purpose by the ISU. The ISU and the KSU aren't supporting the agency's claim.
When you “don’t have time” to apologize after hurting someone because you just have to carry on with your so damn important rehearsal, it is pretty telling what kind of person you really are.
You realize how sharp skates are right? If the only thing that touched Lim was the blade of the skate, there's a high change that Bell didn't even feel it cutting Lim's leg especially at the speed she's going. If it only cut Lim's leg enough that she needed like a bandage and NOT stitches (which was apparently the case), there's no way she felt the skate touch Lim - it's like cutting thru butter. Also the video shows that it's mostly likely an accident. Bell didn't even see Lim until the last second since she was backwards to her the entire time (as was Lim which is unfortunate since she should've been cognizant of Bell's position at all times since her music was on and so it was her turn to go thru her program). There was nothing in Bell's routine that was changed in order to purposefully touch Lim, it's the same routine she's been doing all season.
Yea these aren't comparable at all. I love how everyone was already calling Bell Tonya Harding before ISU made a statement and the the video came out.
Sorry but I'm not buying it, I just don't believe her. Anyone who ever skated know how sharp skate blades are and if you get sliced by it you need some stiches + you can't skate for a few weeks or else the stiches will come out. She only had a small dressing on her supposed wound, it's pretty much impossible. I believe Bell didn't do it on purpose + lim is lying big time around the severity of her injury.
Looking at the video considering Bell was going backwards towards her the majority of the time, only saw her head last minute enough to change her arm so she wouldn't whack her and the leg swing was part of the choreo - Lim got off easy in terms of being able to dress the cut without stitches. Who knows, Bell could've had enough time and realization to change the direction of her leg enough that it didn't slice thru her fully. Tho considering how sharp skates are, it would be like slicing thru butter so I'm not surprised she probably didn't even know she cut Lim.
Can easily deliberately kick her in the back of the leg and call it an accident. Especially when it's your competition.
The leg swinging down is literally part of her choreography. You can see her perform this program at a number of other competitions throughout the season and she didn't add anything to it at this practice. Also Bell and Lim had very little chance to podium. Yes they're competitors but no one in their right mind goes after a competitor at the skating rink where all of the coaches are, fans are and tv cameras are. Also, if any skater really wanted to have a strong chance to win by maliciously taking out the competition - the Americans and the Korean aren't at the top of the list. You take out the Russian and the Japanese girls because they're the ones medaling (tho Kazakhstan got silver AND did the first quad at international competition so woo).
No one is writing hate comments about figure skating though, they're writing hate comments directed to a little brat being a terrible sportsman. So what does being a fan of the sport have to do with recognising and having an opinion on someone being a bad person?
1. The KSU and ISU never backed the agency's allegations and after observing the video the ISU ruled it cannot be conclusive that Bell did it on purpose.
2. The video has come out and you can tell it was an accident. Bell's music was on so she had the right of way for practicing her routine. She goes backwards toward Lim who has her back to her and switches forward very close to her (mind you this is part of her routine). You can tell Bell sees Lim's head completely last minute because she's able to change her arm position so as not to whack Lim in the back of the head. But honestly probably couldn't tell her leg, that was coming in from a downswing, came close enough to Lim's leg to cut it. Considering Bell was going backwards to Lim the majority of the time and at a fast speed and the fact that Lim was meant to be constantly conscious of Bell's positioning on ice while her music was on (which is just practice etiquette), along with the fact that skate blades are really sharp so she wouldn't feel her skate catching Lim's leg, it honestly looks like an accident.
Mariah's music was playing. Mariah was practicing her choreo which required her to go near the sidelines. When a skater's music is playing you have to keep an out eye for them. Lim should've been watching where Mariah was. She wasn't. Yes, Mariah skated towards her, but her choreo had her back turned to Lim. Lim was moving around. Mariah accidentally got her leg. If
this was on purpose, do you think the only thing Lim would need is a band aid?
The video actually clears things up a lot and it definitely looks like an accident. You can tell Bell sees Lim's head last minute since she moves her arm back so as not to whack her (when the arm should be out mirroring her other arm) but considering it was on the downswing there's a chance she didn't realize she even came close to Lim's leg. Considering the speed at which she was going and how sharp skates are - she wouldn't feel any resistance of Lim's leg.
Thanks, you can clearly see she knew what she was doing.
Honestly it looks like an accident. You can tell she saw her head last minute since she changed her arm direction but there's a strong chance she didn't think her leg would hit Lim. Considering how sharp skates are there's a chance she couldn't tell she cut Lim in the first place.
Did you see the video? She may not have even know about the injury. Depends on when she was informed or if she even realized she hit her when she glided past.
It actually looks like an accident and honestly, skates are so sharp that unless you're hitting ice (something hard and solid) - the blades go thru thing like they're butter. If you don't realize you hit something there's no way you know.
Video clip is out, definitely looks like an accident.
Probably day practice since she her team was able to rush her to the hospital and back for her turn (it was Eunsoo's choice to do her performance, no one forced her to go back after her trip to the hospital as far as information tells)
The reason I ask is if it was the warm up before the short program then that's normally filmed by the cameras there and I can't seem to find any video of the collision. It seems like it would be then if Bell is in her costume already, she would've gone earlier in the group then. Depending on the lineup then Lim would've had time to get treatment and all.
This was practice and not the actual competition.
Practice as in the day before or practice before the actual Short program?
lol professional skater accidentally skate too close or accidentally kicked someone. ermmm....
At that level of skill she doesn't know how to keep distance plus previously bullying her already.
Let me stab someone then apologize
Yuzuru Hanyu was crashed into at warm up a few years ago in a competition. It does happen, not that often but it does.
"Bell couldn't apologize at the moment of the accident because her music started." - what kind of nonsense is this
If you don't start on time I think you're docked points and this is Worlds. I'm not trying to defend her actions if they were deliberate but this is the biggest competition apart from the Olympics. Being docked a few points for not starting on time can kill any chance you have.
Guys - TVXQ Tri-Angle because holy shizznit that is a MESS both musical arrangement, styling, just all of that video lololol
Hopefully U.S. tour announcement is next! -crosses fingers-
Do they have enough songs for a full concert? Genuine question
Performing those same tired songs ?
lololol they've got nothing else thus far
Literally everyone. TVXQ as 5 were so big it was stupid and for good reason. Together they were pretty much perfect. All generations and their fans take note. I still vividly remember hearing that three of them were seeing and seeing their last MV together actually hurt considering there was no scene with them all together like every other of their videos.
Serious question - how long can his shows be and how many tickets does he expect to sell? o.O
Makes sense considering how fickle netizens are in general and how big of a deal your image is as an idol. Being in that position would be stressful.
