She made the wise decision and we I believe in her sincerity because after going so far it took a lot of courage to acknowledge your wrongdoing. I hope she start a new and Attrack can support her into a new path.
Welcome to Kpop idol life !
They are not promoted as kpop group but as american group by using kpop formula. They sound kpop but what do people expect since they are from a kpop label. And they will use not only the kpop training system but also music production and promotion.
Ain't no way he's gonna debut another 2 groups on top of Nizi Project S2. He can't even manage the current groups. A new group is debuting every year
He doesn't manage but each group has their own team (manager, marketing/communication, planning etc.) J.Y. Park only decide on strategic decision of the company and in the process of creation of the groups.
Congratulation to them ! But to be honest, I don't even know who he is.
Attrack's CEO was very smart, he took full advantage of the favorable public opinion to get new investments. If he can come up with a deal to do a show like 'RU Next', well, there's no limit to the success the new group could achieve.
I don't think Fifty Fifty is dead though, someone will save them as soon as they break free from Attrack. 'Cupid' is nominated at the VMA...
Fifty Fifty could be saved by a new company but they lost netizen support and I don't believe they would be able to reneww with the same success. 'Cupid' hits big but the group actually didn't become that popular and people still don't know them.
It's a wise decision to debut a new girl group and move on Fifty Fifty. I hope the new girl group to find success.
4 years is a good gap to debut a new group.
Can't believe Jihan didn't win on QP, for the first few episodes it seemed like she was locked in. But by the end it became clear that the voters were trying to make a girl crush group, guess I shouldn't be surprised. 🙄
I think Jihan made into Top 7 mostly thanks to bonus points.
I've been wondering lately what happened to them. They were one of the most promising groups of 2020 along with Aespa and STAYC. They earned several nominations and wins in the award shows of 2020 and 2021. Their first songs were amazing. And then they just faded, had one comeback that didn't do well, and after that they've been quiet. I haven't even seen them in line-ups for various concerts I've watched online, line-ups that include both popular and less popular groups. They haven't received the kind of management one would expect from a company which created A Pink and learned from managing that group.
Maybe because this company didn't create Apink but acquired Apink's company when Apink was already among the big names of kpop. And to be honest, Apink started to go down after moving to this company....so I'm not surprised to see how bad Weeekly are managed. Anyway, I'm just happy they are finally making a comeback but I somehow feel it could be their last one if this comeback don't do well.
Congratulation to her ! If debuted under the right company, she could have become really big.
The name is so bad but this line up is pretty good. I would prefer is no Weeekly member make the cut because I want the group to have a comeback instead.
Wonder Girls didn't work out bcuz JYPE didn't have any strong business connections in the USA... And apparently, Koreans forget that Korean-American exist too. And Kpop is Kpop as the korean lyrics are used.
But I am skeptical that an All-American Kpop group would be popular. For myself, I liked Kpop in the beginning (in late 2000s) bcuz their music, idols and culture are so different, like they were from another world. There was a mystic and escapism to following these Kpop idols. But if they are All-American I guess some of that mystic is gone.
As for using K-pop training system I already feel a lot of the trainees would drop out after being accepted. The learning/teaching systems in America and Asia is just so different. But I guess it's about an individuals' discipline. If they want it bad enough they can make it.
That is why in the show JYP clearly express that he is looking for highy disciplined talents because he want to find members that will be able to accept and bear with the kpop system of training.
I just wish JYP would focus on Itzy and Nmixx
Itzy or NMIXX and any other group under JYP has their own team to manage and produce them. JYP usually play a role in the creation of the group but after that he lets its teams manage. I understand he also needs to try acheving his personal dreams and having new challenge as a producer, and one of them has always been USA.
the kpop training system is nothing to be proud of: overwork, toxic fan interactions, starvation to the point of fainting on stage and having mental breakdowns. all this to enrich some corporations
Yes but it producces the kpop idols you have today.
He is not making a kpop group but an american based group by using kpop system. For once, I think he has a great idea. Kpop group is different from western group by having idols who are highly trained in various field. They are produced to be performers with friendly image. So if he manage to create an american group with the same values and level of skills, the impact will be huge. When he created NiziU some people whe sceptical and though his project was crazy but now NiziU is one of the most popular group in Japan.
This story is really a big mess but after that I think It's over for Fifty Fifty. I guess the CEO has given up on the group and even if they manage to win and sign under another company, I don't think netizen will support them.
I think DSP is really good in picking the members but the problem is their management. I'm excited to see what they will offer us this time and I pray to not have another basic girl crush concept.
DSP you suck at making groups with compatible personalities. Another group made full of bullies.
I've followed DSP girl groups since KARA and except with Hyunjoo (and nothing has been proved) all others have strong bond with each other. KARA and Rainbow members are still friend today, and that's strange but all other April members are following and supporting each other.
It's her choice and decision if she wants to follow her father and sister into the entertainment industry. But to be honest except if she joins a big company, I'm not sure she will able to go as famous and I'm affraid it could pain her in the long run. Her father is a really big name and Sieun started really young as an actress under JYP. She also got really lucky with STAYC since making it with a small company is really rare.
I'm not shocked but since he aims to work in this field it is common sens to know the most iconic names. It's the same in every field you are...you have to have basic knowledge.
Because they are musicians and not models?
JYP has long been a company that shows their idols as down-to-earth and normal people. And that is also good.
If they want to advertise, then go ahead with "smaller" brands. It just seems much more natural for JYPE Idols.
I agree, I thing accessible brands and specially those who promote an eco-friendly image will match better JYP idols. This company focus a lot on those aspects. I watched few video about JYP new building and what Park Jin Young stress on the most are 'music' and 'sustainability'.
Because K-pop stopped being about the music when they started going after western viewers, because western fans care more about appearance than doing what you're supposed to be doing. Artist puts new album or song out? It is judged by their looks or uninformed opinions on current events, likewise condemned if they so much as slightly disagree.
Western fans won't buy a luxury item just because idols wear it. It's more korean (and other asian fans) who would prefer spend their savings on expessive products just to have the same as famous idol. Actually, idols are chosen as brand ambassadors to target asian market !
Luxury brands only use idols to promote and sell in Asia because European people are not really consuming those products anymore. All we care now in Europe is 'eco-friendly' and 'annimal free' ! Main market for Luxury Brands (and especially French brands) are Asian countries such as China, Korea, Japan, Singapore. You only need to go in front of Luxury Brand shops in Paris and 2/3 of the people in line are Asian people. JYP is more attached to value such as eco-friendly and humility so he probably don't care if JYP idols are not brands ambassadors since it would not really conttribute to the image of the company.
I’m pretty sure he could just set up a new label from scratch and still make it big, simply because he’s Lee Soo Man.
I'm sure he could achieve that and I won't even be surprise if one day it surpass SM. But at his age, It would be better to retire and enjoy life without worries. Doing things he couldn't do until now and just live happily.
It's a good decision ! Everytime I see Lee Ji Eun, I always have few seconds of hesitation to associate it with IU lol.
Nice! I predict a fierce competition between Ive and NewJeans to be the first K-pop girl group to became top artists America. I hope both succeeed!
I think NewJeans will focus on domestic market at first with the strategy to become the leading act of this new generation. Once they managed to reach that international fans will follow naturally. I always thing that going international too soon is not a good thing. Instead, it's important to build a solid domestic fan base first before venturing.
CEO is really wise and his words are reflect what kind of person he is. He seems to be a genuise kind person but I hope his heart won't lead him to be betrayed one again.
