What if we are an underprivileged poor white girl from a war-destroyed, third-world country with a high GPA, a burning passion for marketing management and not enough opportunities, can we still apply/ask for a scholarship or are we not suitable enough to do so?

LOL I think you just have to surround yourself with good people that know what is safe and not safe, and make choices that don't have so much cons that will follow, because crazy is everywhere.

SK is generally safe, just because AKP keeps posting those stories does not mean SK is unsafe. I was there all last summer and nothing happened to me. Crimes happen everywhere in every country, even safe ones. For example Japan is one of the safest countries in the world yet that Mayu Tomita incident happened.

It is generally safe, but there has been an increase in crime geared toward women. As a single woman living here, I and a lot of my friends are more on guard. It's definitely not as safe as it was before.

it is very safe in SK. When I went to Seoul last year, i stayed at hongdae( where there are lots of bars and party place). I went to 7eleven late at night abd there lots of koreans who are drunk but they didn't even bother me at all. fyi, im from chicago, and i can say that it is safer in SK than chicago.
