TVXQ, DBSK Dong Bang Shin Ki, Tohoshinki

In the blink of an eye, or one second... 40,000 tickets were sold for TVXQ's Japan Tour Concert at the Saitama Super Arena which will be held May 5th. Are you kidding me? 40,000 psycho's fans spent good, hard-earned yen to see YunHo sing like a girly man during Fur pull Purple Line? This has got to be some kind of record. The Elves should be ashamed of themselves, It took Super Junior 18 minutes to sell out their concert and that was only 13,000 tickets.

I find it very hard to believe that 40,000 tickets were sold in one second. Working on web sites for years, I know that it would be very hard to have 40,000 concurrent connections at any given point of time. Which leads me to believe that the figure is extremely exagerrated. I'm thinking that maybe the majority of the tickets were already presold in some fashion before they even went on sale online. Also it's interesting to note that the Saitama Super Arena has a maximum capacity of 37,000. How could they sell 3,000 tickets over the maximum capacity? I suppose they would have 3,000 of the fans standing. Hey, every dollar counts & you know cassiopeian's would do anything to attend the concert.
Did TVXQ Really Sell 40,000 tickets in one second?

no way , it’s a lie. If you go to a website to buy a ticket , it will take you more than 1 minute. You know how fast one second is. My point is : 40,000 connections at the same time will make the network system slow down. And the people will try to buy the tickets that are near the stage, if all of them are already sold out, they will buy others.

Well, they did sold out 33,000 tickets in two seconds for the Seoul Encore concerts.

I wouldn’t doubt this news. Those fans sure are lunatics.

800,000 members…they should be selling million albums every time..

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if their concert sold out in 1 second.  That’s ridiculously fast, but… that’s what ridiculously loving fans do, I guess…?

Add ticket to cart, input your information (address, name, etc) & credit card info and then checkout. That’ll take much longer than 1 second, and again all those connections on one server at one time would make it sluggish as well (unless they had load balancing on multiple powerful servers & a huge pipe).

well, when they say 1 second, i’m assuming people were already able to add to cart and fill in all that info ahead of time, then all they had to do was click a button… whether it’s a second or not, selling out even within a few minutes is extremely impressive.

I heard tickets were allowed to be pre-ordered, so off course it would take 1 sec to sell out when the site opens. I think the industry is trying to exaggerate DBSK’s achievements again.

Feb 11, 2008 - 05:34 PM

that’s impossible
SM is exxagerating it to top all the concerts got sold out lately
big bang sold out in 10 mintues
suju sold out in 18 minutes
so they gotta make up something that nobody can top

so they go with 1 second
SM is such an ass.
how can anybody believe this

1 second?.... was all that sold through the internet?
No way that happened, especially since they are in Japan.
I mean, I know they have a good fanbase in Japan now… but unless Casseopia took a vacation to Japan… I really doubt it. There’s no way their popularity already exceeds those like Ayumi Hamasaki, Utada, BoA, etc who have not exaggerated to such news yet.

Totally do-able for the Cassiopeias!
TVXQ has the largest fanbase of 800,000 official members!
That’s also excluding non-official members!
If you were to include the non-official, you’ll have more than 800,000!
They are in the Guinness World Records for 2008!
UNITED WE STAND, TOGETHER WE FALL!
Don’t mess with us smile HAHAHAHA.
ELF got nothin’ on us!

Concert ticket pricing in Japan is usually like this : one price for ALL tickets for a particular concert. That’s because all Japanese fans can afford to pay. Then, depending on luck of draw (ballot) - they get to be near the artistes or far far away. That’s why I dislike watching concerts in Japan.
Those who can’t get tickets through normal sales can always depend on auction sites. Not sure for this case though lol. They have a huge fanbase.

GO TVXQ!!! well i know that the number of tickets was exaggerated but who cares? i mean, its obvious that they are great anyway. and suju is too so its not really fair to compare them. eh, well GO DBSK!!! =D

40,000 in a second? wouldn’t the servers crash or something?

24.  pride
Feb 11, 2008 - 08:18 PM

From something else I read, it might’ve been *oldahjumma*, I’m too lazy to check right now, I believe they said that they were basically all sold through preorders, so when they “went up for sale”, they were already sold out. One second.

Or I might’ve made that up, but I think I read it somewhere.

Feb 11, 2008 - 08:38 PM

1 second. how did the server not crash??? i can maybe believe 1 minute, but 1 second? yeah, right. i dont get why the fans buy the nosebleed seats though, especially if i dont speak korean. why not just watch dbsk on tv? it’s not like you can tell that the ant-sized person on stage is actually them.

1 sec… seriously 1 sec? if you reloaded the page or something you would think that it would take a couple secs. it’s hard to believe if you count 1…2.. and then -ALL- 40,000 tickets are gone. probably just like at least 1,000 or somethinnggg was left and someone just exagerated since so much was gone.

I think it’s mostly due to pre-orders.  Basically if you are in their official fan club Bigeast, you get to order first before anybody.  So the official members get to buy up all the tickets first and when it’s finally released for public sale, you’ll either get screwed because it’s all sold out and or you get whatever scraps are left. So I think it is possible to sell out in a second.  And it’s DBSK we’re talking about.  They have a larger following now.  Their T album 1 week cd sales in Japan totally surpassed their entire FITB album in a whole year.

I’m not surprised if its over the seating-capacity.
They can always accept more.

And crazy fans wouldn’t mind standing in there.
AS LONG AS THEY’RE AT THE CONCERT—thats what counts. LOL

I’d be happy to be there—w/ seat or NONE, who cares.

This just proves that I can never go to a DBSK concert…wahaha….

and they sold their Seoul Encore concert in 22 seconds…I think…33,000 tickets sold out in 22 seconds…do you think 40,000 tickets in one minute is impossible?!

HPDANM there’s a big difference between 40,000 in one minute vs 40,000 in one second.
