Wonder Girls’ Sun Mi is now a highschooler

Wonder Girls member Sun Mi is no longer a middle schooler, but in fact, a high schooler. The 16-year-old graduated on February 2, 2008 from Seoul Chung Dam Middle School.

A spokesperson from WG's label, JYPE, had stated "At this moment, we would like to ask if everyone can respect the family and their wish to celebrate Sun Mi's graduation quietly."

In related news, here's what the other Wonder Girls members are up to:

So Hee, who is the same age as Sun Mi, will also be graduating from middle school very soon. Ye Eun, is currently attending classes at Kyung Hee University, where she is majoring in post-modern music. As for the leader Sun Ye, she is currently in Japan on vacation with her family.

how does the school system work in korea?? when does the school year start and end? cause sun mi was born in 1992 which makes her technically 15 right now cause her birthday hasn’t passed yet, but she just finished middle school?? my cousin was born the same year as her and is in her second year of high school.

and how come yoobin isn’t mentioned? what’s she up to?

so… she just finish 8th grade?
and So Hee not even done wit 8th grade yet?
they both born in the same year as me.
and I’m a freshman.

in korea middle school has grades 7-9 and high school has grades 10-12.
the school year starts in march and ends in july for a break equivalent to our winter break and starts again in august ending in february for a break equivalent to our summer break.
you attend middle school from ages 13-15 and 16-18 in high school.
sun mi is graduating from the 9th grade and will be attending the 10th grade in august along with so hee.

you’re 15 and you are going to college? A genius I must say. Then you will graduate with a bachelor degree at the age of 19? Master at 20/21.
