What’s Up With G-Dragon’s Fashion?

Netizens / VIP's are also talking about G-Dragon's fashion sense or lack thereof. In recent photo shoots he was seen wearing a weird outfit (that you can see below). He's also been criticized for sporting a haircut that resembles a half eaten pineapple. It seems it was clearly influenced by The Supreme Kai of Dragon Ball Z:
Some are suggesting that the mental patient he plays in "Oh My Friend" isn't far off from the truth. On some message boards, VIP's are suggesting that G-Dragon is trying to steal the spotlight. Suggesting that he's trying to be the "main man" of Big Bang and that he knew that the actions he took would get people to talk about him. Well it seems to be working, but the talk hasn't been positive. Which is unfortunate because here's a little secret (Johnny stop reading now) I'm a big fan of Big Bang, not G-Dragon in particular but the whole group makes pretty good music.

nerner - I’m not a writer on *oldahjumma*. If you’re referring to this article (which I just looked up - http://*oldahjumma*.com/2008/08/25/g-dragon-wants-you-to-know-something/) I don’t see how this is the exact same thing. Not to mention, a lot of articles are posted here before *oldahjumma*.

It’s the fact that he’s trying too hard to stand out. Everyone else in Big Bang dresses relatively normal, but I guess GD feels like he has to go that extra mile, hence, making him look like an attention whore. He’s been labeled as a genius and a fashionista and I can totally see that going to his head. I’m a fan of BB too, but GD is just an enigma to me lol

for those who are saying that sex shirts is not that a big deal…then, think again…especially when he’s in the industry with minors watching him…it’s for bidden even at school…if he’s trying to act cool then he’s not…it’s disgusting and a big disappointment…

I toally agree with you. I Got sent home from school once by my principle for wearing a shirt that said ‘I’m a pimp’ at school (or something like that….).
Its kinda (well REALLY) a big deal cuz you have others watching you and learning from what you do. I still wear the dirty shirts, but they’re not as ‘obvious’ as the pimp shirt i wore.

I think he’s definitely trying to be different from his band mates. I liked Bigbang as a group when they released the Always mini-album,especially G-Dragon. They were more innocent and laid back back then. Not that Im saying he should keep the simple style that he sported during 2007 forever, but I think he’s trying way too hard to be unique these days. It’s not working though, the point of being different from other people&being;eccentric is not too try hard and just be yourself and from what I can see, G-Dragon is doing exactly the opposite. What im trying to say is, G-Dragon should just be himself and not try too hard on impressing people. BUT I could be wrong - maybe this is him. If that’s the case then w/e :] It’s not my place to say anything about other people’s fashion sense.
But I agree with HPDANM a bit though… there are minors watching him, he couldve been a bit thoughtful about what he wears -_-

His interview in YGBounce made it sound like he wants to keep his fashion style evolving, so he’s completely unique. Once people start copying him, he isn’t going to stick with it anymore. That probably means he’s gonna have to go pretty out there eventually, but I kind of respect his philosophy. I feel the same way; I don’t want to walk into a room and look just like someone else there.
