TVXQ is Number One in Japan Again

Surprise, Surprise Korea's top boy band TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki is number one in Japan once again with their latest single "Why Have I fallen in Love With you?"

This is the fourth time that they have achieved the number one spot on the Oricon Daily Singles Chart. They sold 53,669 units on the first day of release. Which is quite an increase from their last Oricon Chart Topper "Beautiful You" which did approximately 37,000 units on it's first day of release.

Tohoshinki is on good pace to achieve the number one spot on the Oricon Weekly chart as well, they previously achieved this twice with "Purple Line" and "Beautiful You".

They almost outsold Beautiful You’s first week sales. With those figures, that record is basically theirs.

I really don’t understand the hype… Ok they have the looks but the music as far as I’m concerned isn’t great. Slate my opinions all you want as they are just opinions but I feel there are far more talented artists out there.

Since when did the most talented artists become the most popular? That is definitely not the case in almost every market. there maybe more talented artists out there but that doesn’t take away the fact that Tohoshinki is talented. theyre good at singing and have quickly learned a new language in such a short period of time. i think they deserve the success they have achieved.

I’m just saying… I can see them scoring points with the teeny boppers because of their looks but I just find their music and on screen persona’s rather dull.

go DBSK! it’s started to be like BoA’s success with the Oricon haha she’s gotten #1 for all her Japanese albums. Anyway, sorry for sidetracking but congrats to the DBSK boys oh and i thought the same thing De La Methode...oh well i liked the drama one and i probably would have liked it better than the second one.

the teeny boppers? You really need to see their fanbase in Japan and Thailand. There’re tens of good looking boybands in korea and hundreds all over the world, why TVXQ then? For me, I like the groups that blend their voices together real well, thee meaning of being a group of course.

The most talented depends on what you term them. The one who can compose, but probably(mostly) can’t sing is called “a composer”. The one who can sing great live than the originals is called “a professinal singer”, you may find them in your favoite club and musical theatre. The one who dance gracefully is a professional dancer. All of them are artists, which one can capture more people is more popular. And which one that has unique qualities also can shine.

I understand your point though. Not even half of their songs that I like, but their voices and their stage perfs make all songs are either great or tolerable. But they released so many songs in different styles, the songs that catch my heart (sum with their voices) are still a lot.

If you don’t get it, I still understand. Because I myself don’t get all the hype of the korean hip-hop and rap groups. Many praise them for an originality with the similar beats, rythmes, and melodies of the westerns of japanese? If all funky clothes they wear don’t call for the look department, what’s the reason of all those clothes.

anyway...I woke up early to check Oricon...wahaha...I’m just happy...all I’ve been writing in my journal is for DBSK to top the charts and my mom letting me go for vacation in Japan+Korea+Philippines alone...ahaha…
and for me its their best Japanese song. I love the lyrics and they didn’t use any vibrato, just their voices…
can’t wait to get my hands on it!!! ahaha >.<

I believe that DBSK has worked very hard to achieve success in Japan, and they have proven themselves to be amazing singers and entertainers. Though no one is perfect and they have messed up in the past, these boys have learned from their mistakes and perservered. I am proud to be a TVXQ/DBSK fan.

There are no teeny boppers that buys their cds in Japan, it’s mostly adjummas that like to spend their husband’s money. And that’s a great thing for Tohoshinki, their fans would actually shell out much of their money for two of their songs and there’s no stalking or crazy rampant jealousy involved either. I’m not a teen anymore and very far from being an ajumma but I love their new single and glad that I preordered it. They are a highly talented group and I’ll truly celebrate when they’re able to top Oricon weekly again.

I kinda agree with pijiu i don’t get the hype, I only like two songs that they’ve put out. “Choosey Lover” and “Tri-Angle” I tried listening to the other songs but they don’t pull me into the song.

Anyway, Congrats to DBSK!

This song is amazing so it was only natural for it to achieve the #1 spot >___< i am sososo proud of them, they can only get better and better XD

DBSK 10000% deserves everything they get. I’m so proud of them, but also proud of the fans too. A LOT of international fans bought from oricon friendly websites just so they could get number one, despite wether it was more expensive or not, they still did.
They have a huge fan base and they will only get more and more sucess <3

but they’ve definitely pleased a lot for this single to go to #1. i think no matter how much a fan tries to convince a non-fan, if they’ve already set an opinion, it can never be altered. however, i believe the boys have captured different types of fans throughout their career. it’s unfair to call their fans teenyboppers. in japan, ive met so many diff types of fans of different ages!

People have different preferences. One may not like them or think they have worthwhile songs, but others do. It goes for any artist. What’s the difference?

Congrats dbsk. Hopefully they make number 1 on the weekly Oricon Charts so that they could break the record.
