SG Wannabe

SG Wannabe, the powerful R&B trio of Chae Dong ha, Kim Yong jun and Kim Jin ho have decided to release an album in Japan, sometime during March. More details of SG Wannabe's Japanese album will be unveiled at a press conference which is to be held on Jan. 26, 2008.

This Saturday, ten record labels fought over the very famous R&B group, in the end, Pony Canyon was able to sign them up. SG Wannabe drew much attention in Japan after having many concerts, so it wasn’t a shock when there was big competition to be their management.

SG Wannabe held concerts in Japan during May 2006, November 2006 and June 2007. The three will leave for Japan to hold another, "New Year Concert 2008," on Jan. 27.

After such a successful career in Korea - winning a prestigious award (Best Newcomer award) for their debut album at the Golden Disc Awards, featuring top actors and actresses in their music videos, and high sales in Korea (despite the major pitfall of music sales the past few years) - it's no wonder SG Wannabe is WANTED.
Will SG Wannabe taste success?

I don’t see why they wouldn’t succeed when they already have fans in Japan. They did have a Japanese fan that paid, what was it, $5000 for a ticket to their dinner show in Korea? But yeah, good luck to them.

Good luck to them!!! I honestly don’t care what they look like, nor do other fans because these guys have real raw talent. To me if you just like a group or singer just for their looks then you’re not a real fan, thats what pisses me off with some Super Junior and DBSK “fan”. But anyway, I agree with Ch0sshi I don’t see why they wouldn’t be successful in Japan smile

dude i think they would do great, anywhere they go even US but they just have to work on their pronunciation and they would do great.

oh i was at their november 2006 concert.. i didnt really know these guys (and still dont) but i was visiting japan and my uncle had some tickets.. i remember the extra ugly guy was really bad at singing, his voice kept cracking and he was trying to copy the singer from aerosmith ( the way he was holding the mic and stuff).. it was funny at the end he thanked everyone for listening to his “weird” voice..

so are they meant to be talented?

I agree with yoon-sun, if they work on their vowels and consonants they will do very well.

They can sing, but I doubt they’d be able to attract the Japanese audience.

oh Chelly, you sure know how to make a joke!
If they can’t attract the Japnaese audience, what the hell are they doing there by holding their concert for the fourth time, in less than 2 years timespan!

Me too, I really want to hear what they will sound like in Japanese. I also think that if they ever debut in the US they would make it.
