Rain leading TIME 100 poll

Rain (Bi) is once again leading the vote of TIME Magazine's 2007/2008 "100 Most Influential People Who Shape Our World" online poll. He has already topped TIME Magazine's 2006/2007 online user poll, and for this year's online poll it seems like he will be on top once again. Even though he's winning these online polls (thanks to fangirls worldwide), TIME Magazine doesn't really think he's too influential as he's never been on the actual printed magazine list.

As of submission of this article, Rain is leading at 89% (with 99,000 votes) compared to second place Britney Spears at 83% with (30,000 votes). You can view the TIME Magazine page of Rain here.

With Rain all but assured of winning, will TIME remove him on future polls? I don't see how he's so influential, it seems the fangirls are ruining a perfectly valid poll. Last year's runner up, Stephen Colbert (who is currently in 4th place) made a parody of one of Rain's music videos. You can see the video here:

There’s no way in hell he is as influential as these fangirls make him out to be. I’d take Colbert or Britney over this half assed “world star” any day. Also Colbert’s music video is so much better than Rain’s. XD

wasn’t he on the actual 100 list for 2006? as in...his profile was printed on the magazine...it was last year where he was only on the online poll when he beat colbert **remembers colbert’s parody lol**

by the way, anyone else thinks it’s ridiculous that britney spears is on the list? ...i mean seriously...if she can be in it why can’t rain lol...obviously the list is a popularity contest and the fangirls are doing a good job at giving him some exposure…

Are you kidding me? I hope TIME is not going to make this poll count. Everyone knows its just a popularity contest. I mean, who the hell would think RAIN is “Influnential”, he actually makes me want to sit down on my ass and act like a lazy sloth instead.

What Britney has to offer to this humanity more than Rain?

She is the model for slut and vagino-flashing animal, for crazy bald unstable-mind girl, for dating and sleeping with others like (again) animal.

Gezzz. If Britney makes it there, Rain sure can grab the first spot. It’s a good thing to see someone ASIAN there.

And lol, that stupid stephen colbert can’t differ between kpop and middle east, south asian music. And he makes a KPop MV already. LOL

How does this guy beat out even the Dalai Lama? But again, this IS just a popularity contest, like .gov said, but if he’s managed to make enough stupid fan girls vote him number one I guess we can say he’s pretty “influential.”

I don’t hate Rain, but come’on. He’s not that influential. I mean, if (in addition to singing, acting, modeling, learning English) proved he could fly through Hollywood skies, invented the grossest kind of ice cream in existence, or started speaking like Latin or something, I really would deem him at least awesome, if not influential.

online polls are far from credible, in this case, completely absurd, regardless of their respective hosts whether it be time magazine, cnn, etc…

it’s like saying that the most viewed clip on youtube is the most important story of the year...man, that south park episode was funny…

it’s essentially a popularity contest...i’m disappointed that time would even participate in such a thing...it degrades their integrity as a reputable magazine…

who’s going to be time’s “person of the year” is a more substantive debate...2007 was putin...i think 2008 might be putin again as he retains power in russia through his protege or maybe iranian president mahmoud ahmadinejad as his influence grows in the middle east…

there’s no way in hell that rain is of any relevance or consequence on the world stage…

How the heck did he get on the list again is what I’d like to know? He’s been virtually nowhere, has done no new music and what has he released anyways besides that speed racer movie and commercials in Asia.

Omg that parody was hilarious! I couldn’t understand the first few words in the video because of his semi-bad pronunciation but it was so hilarious. I like that guy more than Bi (Rain).

you bitches are crazy. How can Rain be a failure if he hasn’t he even debut in the U.S. yet?

If you think the poll is unfair then go vote for somebody else. Rain will come up numero UNO no matter what.
