Girls' Generation 2008 Dream Concert
The I Love Korea 2008 Dream Concert which was held on the 7th to boost Korean patriotism, instead only boosted the hostility between fan clubs.

During the opening of the concert, approximately 20 fans were injured and rushed to the hospital. The injuries occurred as fan clubs were fighting over their idols as well as for seats.

To make matters worse, while Girls' Generation performed for a duration of 10 minutes, all of the male idol group fan clubs (fat ugly girls) turned off their glow sticks, as well as "boo-ed" the girls.

Korea's fandom is quite ridiculous, as was the purpose of this concert. I'm sure the male boy bands weren't very appreciative of the nasty behavior that came about from their own fan clubs, then again, even when on their best behavior, who would be happy to be cheered on by thousands of ugly chicks? One things for sure, if I were in an idol band, I'd make extra sure to never fall victim to those notorious beer goggles.

“thousands of ugly chicks”. - WELL SAID.
it’s really not girls generation’s fault that they’re loved by boys, isnt it? >__>

Given SNSD’s recent behaviors I think the silent treatment was well-earned, but the booing was a little harsh.

Didn’t the Wonder Girls’ fanboys join in as well?

^you’re saying when one person out of a group talks a bit on the rude side, the entire group is to be blamed and deserves to be humiliated in front of an entire nation?

C’mon johnny, you’re losing your touch. You needed to end the article with “But the 12 girls can take solace knowing I’ll be there for them in bed tonight.”
Did the fugly fangirls do the same to Wondergirls?

^i think it wouldve been harsher if the fangirls/boys booed tiffany and tiffany ALONE.
THAT wouldve been HARSH.
imagine being singled-out by an entire stadium full of people and realize that your members would be better off without you.. =___=

PLUS, as soshi fans ALWAYS say= THE POWER OF 9. if one’s missing theyre not SNSD. its always fany fany of “SNSD” and deer-eyed yoona of “SNSD”.^^;

SNSD seriously did not deserve that. I can understand if the other FCs remained silent. I mean, if they don’t wanna cheer then fine, but to boo the girls? Ugh, pathetic. Anyway, all of the FCs, including SNSD’s, were at fault. Seriously, SNSD fanboys? Who the hell brings knives to a concert?

I got to say… SNSD didnt deserved more rather TIFFANY was the one.... i mean i read in another article about the Haptic Commercials and the Taesu scandal… i mean those are alright because its normal to have fake dating on commercials to publicize the brand and in my opinion dating is okay with other celebrities they need a life just like other ppl.... but when it came down to all the other stuff that was initiated by TIFFANY of SNSD she did some rude and humiliating stuff which downfell SNSD in whole… So what my point is is that I think fans should blame TIFFANY rather than SNSD because she was the one who did all those horrible stuff not SNSD… if they had to be blamed for it and not only her.... i feel bad for them excluding TIFFANY… but don’t get me wrong i like SNSD i listen to their songs and i think they are cool and all that… but I particularly think they should boycott TIFFANY some how… i mean in my opinion

i thought the only people tiffany offended were shinhwa members, and shcj were not even part of the silent treatment. there is really no logical reason behind the silent treatment from elf, cass and triple s.
honestly, these fan girls are way sensitive too about their idols. i understand it’s part of the korean pop culture, but a commercial with dbsk and being on shows with suju and ss501 translates to booing and a pre-planned silent treatment scheme? i think the final verdict is that these girls have way too much free time. the whole act just screams jealousy. they honestly need to get a life and realize that the world doesn’t revolve around their idols. and one day, their idols are going to get girlfriends and move on with their lives. attacking every girl the boys get in contact with just exudes insecurity and hatred. remember the girl who was driven to suicide by elf members?  obviously no one learned from that lesson. if only the energy the fans spent on doing things like this could be used on something useful, then the world wouldn’t be what it is now.
and the banner/stabbing incident. we don’t know who did it, so people shouldn’t point fingers. if they are indeed snsd fanboys, then shame on them. I hope they go to jail and never come out.
plus, i thought the whole point of fandom is to cheer on your favorite singers, not to give them bad reps. i’m sure suju, dbsk, ss501, and snsd will be VERY “estatic” and “proud” of their fans’ immature behaviors at the “dream” concert. and in the end, it’s the artists who have to take on the responsibility, not the crazy fans. I sincerely feel bad for all the artists who had to sit through the concert that night. none of the people who participated in those events deserve to be fans of dbsk/suju/snsd/ss501.

johnnyboy, you must be a fan of snsd to give a one-sided blog. I’m not a fan of either groups, but its outrageous how the fan-boys tore down the suju’s banner. if you watch that vid on YT, seriously, it’s heartbreaking hearing those girls screaming and crying. maybe snsd deserved it cos of the behaviour of the little pu$$yboys. the boys’ disrespect to other artists made other fanclubs to unite and boycott snsd. your so-called b1tches didnt boycott WG!

17.  won
Jun 08, 2008 - 06:10 PM

to rennie
everyone keeps bringing that up and trust me i LOVE super junior

but they ripped it AFTER snsd had to go through all that crap
there is a fancam of the SS501 fans booing when the MCs said snsd’s name to introduce them.

and there is another fancam where elfs, casseiopias, and triple s is chanting wondergirls! and the whole boycotting thing was planned beforehand

if it wasn’t, how the hell would they get a whole stadium to be quiet?!?!

and there is another fancam on youtube where a couple ELFs are walking around with a sign that says “Silence!” in korean the minute SNSD’s performance started.

everyone is making it out to be as if it SNSD / tiffany and the fanboys’ fault when that obviously is NOT the case.

and trust me.. i am definitely a super junior fan.. super junior is my favorite artist but right now, i support snsd because they did not deserve the attitude they received. none of them.. not even tiffany. what she did was wrong but if you actually look at the videos.. they are not as bad as what it was hyped up to be. did you actually watch the,? or just read the biased articles that ALLKPOP, shenyuepop or whatever site posted?

i totally agree with you.  i think the silence treatment was all planned.

20.  Elle (Unregistered User)
Jun 08, 2008 - 06:33 PM

the treatment snsd received was pre-planned. and the banner thing came after, not the opposite. honestly, even though an eye for an eye is not the answer, it’s just a banner. although people put their money into it, it is only an object. talk about over reaction. i mean what do elf members expect? snsd fans to be totally indifferent to their booings and harsh words? planning something so disgraceful to their idols beforehand is totally calling for bad things to happen. what the fanboys did was wrong, but i think their feelings and actions were picked on by the fans who participated in the silent treatment.
if the silent treatment thing wasn’t started in the first place, then all of this wouldn’t have happened.

@rennie...boycotting SNSD was all planned...type Dream Concert 2008 in youtube or veoh there are 3 versions of “SNSD boycott” promotional videos by E.L.F.’s, Cassies’s, and Triple S…
it’s two major fan clubs(elf and cassies)!
it’s just so unfortunate that all the fan clubs joined in…
I don’t like SNSD but I don’t hate them...I don’t approve of Tiffany’s ways but i also don’t approve of them booing and silencing themselves when it was only one girl’s fault...for me that’s the way it is…

a good chunk, and i do mean a HUGE chunk, of those fans were probably xiah fangirls jealous of him hooking up with one of the snsd girls. i can’t stand a lot of groups and idols but even i wouldn’t be so disrespectful as to boo and yell at them while they’re preforming. remaining silent would have been more tasteful, but then again these are fangirls/boys were talking about, class isn’t exactly in their repetoire.

snsd fanboys told all the other fans that they didn’t need them and if they wanted to boycott snsd, go ahead. snsd fanboys knew about the boycott and instead of fanning the fire, they added oil to it.  ripping, stepping, spitting on the banners, and bringing knives to the concert ... yeah, they protected their idol well.  the ripping of the banners happened BEFORE snsd performance but the stabbing happened afterwards.

@hpdanm - the promotional videos have nothing to do with snsd.  its just cheering for their respective idols.

i think this is more than SNSD. if you take a closer look, this is about the fans fighting back against SM ent, the biggest ent company. they just showed SM that they can also fight back, esp ELFs after their failed attempts to stop SUJU-M. Fortunately for them, they got the biggest fanclubs to back them up. its just unfortunate that ALL SNSD got it from these pissed fans although i must admit that 3-4 of these girls really deserve this treatment. .. hehe sorry.

I find the title of this article simply rude and distasteful. You call someone an ugly fat bitch when she did something personally bad to you or your family members. Your article simply project biasness. (sidetracking) Arent boys supposed to be busy with their gamestation/videogames, sports or getting themselves out of trouble, but fighting with girls for girls?! since they made a girl commit suicide.
and where’s the proof that a snsd fan stabbed someone?
yeah,
there’s a picture of a guy that’s holding an object that looked like a knife,
but it could be a pen for all i care b/c the picture was krappy anyways.

In no way I am justifying the actions of SNSD’s fans; every FC that participated in the violence, booing, 10 minute silence, etc. is to be blame. I suppose the SNSD fans thought they were going to get revenge for the PRE-PLANNED demonstration by causing violence..which is incredibly stupid and doesn’t make them any better than the other FCs.

this is a message posted by Sungmin at his cyworld...I just edited this part:

Ah~ you know SNSD..
You didn’t cheer for them? ^^;; Is our ELF angry?
We’re one!!! Kekeke I wanted to yell that out too~
But yesterday we showed them we are one right?
We are one! ㅋ
Super Junior KRY+T+M+HAPPY = 1

SNSD should understand by now~
They listened to their sunbaes, Super Junior, well!
And not others!
Because yesterday they received their punishment?
So now you must support SNSD okay?~
Because we are SMTown!
SNSd is also like our ELF, part of SMTown right?
It’s okay to have small rifts…
But if you prolong it and don’t resolve it… it wouldn’t be good to our family~ㅠㅠ
So from now on you must support them~

they should freaking listen to Sungmin!!!but I just think it would make some of the fans more jealous...unless the dong bang boys or suju boys or anyone they support get hurt, physically, not emotionally, because fans seemed to care about their own emotional breakdowns...unless they get hurt, I don’t think this girls would stop...I hope that Yunho would make a formal statement regarding this, and most of all Junsu...I don’t care if they have relationships but some fans can be just so serious…
I really feel sorry for the other girls...they don’t deserve such harsh treatment...if they want they could embarrass Tiffany in the whole world because right now I don’t really care about her...I hate how 1 person can bring a crash down to all others...I hate it because I experienced it and I don’t want other people to face the same chagrin and misery...I can even picture how those girls cried, i truthfully don’t care about them until this thing happened...I just hope that majority of the fans would have their senses back and have maturity in them…

that’s why I don’t want DBSK in Korea...even if Korea is their homeland, I don’t want them there...and that’s why i don’t like being called a Cassie either...it’s okay if you’re proud to be one but I AM NOT proud to be classified as a Cassiopeia...I better join the obaa-sans in Big East (DBSK’s Japanese Official fan club) than those psychos....
and FYI I’m not fat and ugly^^

Get over it guys, some people like you and some people don’t. That’s the way life is. You can’t force them to do what you want and they can’t force you to too. Besides this is showbiz, it’s one of the harshest business in the world. People are ready to step over you in a minute regardless whether your friends or not. Artists will definitely stick with their fans and if you think artist have control of their fans, as a matter of fact it’s the other way around. They wouldn’t be high up there without their fans. They are what their fans wan to be. It’s sad thing but it’s a fact. That’s why they have this thing called fan service. If SNSD can’t even handle this deal, sad to say that they won’t last long in this biz. Example Baek Ji Young did make quite a successful comeback after the vid incident. Dunno about Ivy yet though. Besides we know how possessive Korean netizens can be with their idols. There’s tons of example. If you want to be famous you have to accept that there comes fans and antis. I think in America they got it worse where antis shot the artist that they hate. Basically what won’t kill you will make you stronger. Nobody get famous without a lot of hardship. Can’t you really say HOT, Shinhwa, DBSK, SuJu and etc got where they are without crying and feeling down because of antis? Just get over it and if you really got what it got, then prove it. Then again this is only my opinion. Peace out.

I don’t believe they deserved to get booed. Though I think someone needs to knock into Tiffany’s head like ASAP, the entire group did not deserve this treatment.

It is my firm belief that all fanclubs are crazy, SNSD’s, DBSK’s, Suju’s, all of them, especially ones from SM ent. And I though Triple S was good. I hope that Eunice didn’t participate in this, considering how A’st1 was treated in the beginning.

the whole “snsd silence” thing was harsh… however seeking revenge by sending people to the hospital was just uncalled for~

“ 배 발로차서 임신 못하게 하면 돼 “ < we could just kick them so that they can’t get pregnant>

“ 여자들 강간하면 돼 “ <we could just rape the girls>
^ this is what the snsd fans said about the other fans<cassiopeia,triple-S,E.L.F>

the “snsd silence” may have been a little childish… and may have been harsh… but the way snsd fans handled it was harsh also....

i do feel sorry for snsd… but i do understand the hearts of 카트엘<cassiopeia,Triple-S, E.L.F>…
and seriously next time… i hope everyone can just enjoy their fav. groups performances… concerts should be a place where the fans and artists become one… not some place to hold boycotts or harass ppl~
