Shinhwa’s Andy was Originally an H.O.T. member

Ten years later, the truth that Andy Lee, a member of the group Shinhwa, was originally supposed to be an H.O.T. member was exposed.

This 10-year secret was revealed on March 22nd on KBS2TV "Happy Together - Memory Challenge Song," where ex-H.O.T. member Moon Hee Jun spoke of the birth and the never revealed behind-the-scenes stories of H.O.T.

H.O.T. originally started off with 10 members with an elimination process, until the members Moon Hee Jun, Kang Ta, Jang Woo Hyuk, Tony An, Lee Jae Won, AND Andy Lee remained.

However, because Tony An and Andy had similar images, one of them had to be booted.

But, the twist doesn't end there. The people in charge of forming the boy band favored Andy for his young age and spunk, but pitied Tony An because at the time, he was going through some rough times in his life. So, ultimately as we all know, Tony An was chosen.

The episode of "Happy Together" will air on March 27 at 11:05 pm.

anyone who’s a shinhwa/HOT fan has heard this before. But the old story was that Andy’s parents thought he was too young to be in a boyband so rejected the offer. Later on - after he was a bit older he joined shinhwa....

There’s lots of rumors… there’s also the rumor that h.o.t. were the guinea pigs, and shinhwa was supposed to be the main event… unfortunately h.o.t. blew up and shinhwa’s debut was delayed.

H.O.T. was built to fail supposedly.

Heard it before..somewhere..just don’t remember.
Still I’m thankful that Andy was with Shinhwa!!!

I think Andy got the better bargain though, cause Shinhwa is still together. And famous. True, H.O.T. is pretty legendary, but Shinhwa is big in its own right.

i’ve heard of this before...except i heard that Andy’s parents did not let him be in HOT because they thought he was too young...but later on they let him be in Shinhwa...and didn’t he leave shinhwa for a while too? supposedly because his parents wanted him to go to the US to study...who knows *shrug*

LOL oh please what does moon hee jun have then? no offence. He always acted like the oddball of the group. He didnt have the celebrity image. His hair cuts were always funny looking .PLUS wasnt andy too young to join anyway ?

For people who are saying this is old news… yes, it might be. But, with Shinhwa recently celebrating their 10 year anniversary, it’s been a pretty popular topic. GOSH, APPRECIATE ME PEOPLE!
