As the end of the year rolls around the corner, so do the 2007 Music Awards. This year there were no dominant artists in the industry, instead there were a couple artists who shared a fairly equal amount of popularity throughout the year.

Last year, DBSK (TVXQ) pretty much had no competition at all, however this year they are in for a big surprise, and things won't be so easy this time around.

First off is 'SG Wannabe', with the release of their 4th album, they have enjoyed sales of nearly 200,000 albums leading the industry - In a distant 2nd is 'Epik High' with 118,000 albums sold. Both groups have had good album sales and are prime candidates for the Artist of the year award.

Another prime candidate is Ivy, who didn't have as many record sales, but topped the charts on shows such as 'SBS Inkki Gayo'. Ivy had won first place 4 times this year, and has taken the title for winning the most amount of times in 2007. Unfortunately for Ivy, with the recent rumors and news about her sex video scandal, her chances may have dropped.

As for new groups, 'Wonder Girls' has been making huge waves and winning 1st place on the charts lately. They may also be a candidate, but it's very rare for new groups to win the highest award. The only group that managed this was 'Seo Taiji & Boys' back in 1992.

Other honorable mentions up for other various awards are: Big Bang, FT Island and Super Junior.
