For example, when Rain was asked how Asians can influence the western market, he didn't even answer the question. Instead he said, "it doesn't matter where you're from - the important thing is people should understand each other... yeah." Does anyone else see the irony in this answer? How are people going to understand each other, if Rain can't even understand the question, much less give a coherent answer.
However, for simple questions such as the best way to seduce him. Rain answered promptly with, "be a good cook, if you're kind and pretty, that's even better, it's a perfect." Rain seems to have a slight lisp, but overall he didn't do that bad. You can view the video below.
Note: the girl interviewing Rain, has a much sexier and less fobby voice than our good friend POPHOE!

i think he improved a lot since popseoul “interview” if i can call what i heard last month one. i really like this interview,it was funny when he goes on kimchi ,"do u like kimchi? do u know kimchi?...” plus his accent is much better ,he answered right after the questions were asked so ,overall it was good ^__^ go !Ji Hoon !!!!!!!

“it doesn’t matter where you’re from - the important thing is people should understand each other… yeah.” I think he was trying to give one of those answer that don’t offend people, but still be mysterious. I think he did an awesome job and it’s kinda cute how his voice is much softer speaking english and deeper when he speaks Korean.

lol. Each question seems like an exam to him. His brain must be working overdrive. I can see that he was trying to be a bit funny, but the interviewer wasn’t having any of it haha.

i havent finished watching any of Rain’s interview yet, cause i just can’t help but CRINGE every time. Must be his hair. They’re like ABBA’s, all flicked back and what not D;
His English is great considering he doesn’t even live in the states, so kudos to that.

I think he did pretty good! He has a thick accent, but he seemed to really understand the questions. He seems to understand more than he can speak. But he said “yeah” wayyyy too much

It does not matter how coherent his answers are. The fact that I understood 99.9% of what Rain said is a stepping stone already.

he’s improved but like he used “yeah” and “you know” but i could at least understand his answers even though i kinda couldn’t understand the end of that last answer. Hehe he’s improved though.

rain still looks burnt out with his face. i think he improved from his very poor pronunciation but he needs to improve his vocabulary (choice of words) more to be able to express himself well so he would have to say being a good cook as the best way to seduce a person 8-<
I guess se7en is way ahead of him in speaking English.

The interview was great. His English is improved and I understood all of his words. All he has to do is increase his vocabulary and he’ll be okay. I think he speaks well for someone who is a second language speaker.

Oh yeah...please stop comparing him to Se7en. Rain is CLEARLY doing much more things than Se7en (acting in both Speed Racer & Ninja Assasin, building his body up for his role, going to premiers, etc.). Se7en seems to have more time to practice the English as all he’s doing is having parties in LA. I’m sure if all Rain was doing was trying to release an American album and if he was living in LA he would’ve have left that slow a** Se7en in the dust by now. Rain seems to be very driven to be successful. I’m impressed with what he has done so far.

If Justin Timberlake or any western artists were trying to break into the Korean entertainment industry (singing, acting speaking Korean), I wonder how much Korean they would know in under 1 year. I suspect not very much.
Please give Rain, Se7en and the rest of these guys trying to learn English a break. I’m actually impressed with both of them and the English they’ve learned thus far.

It was better than I expected. Seems nervous when speaking in English, he should do what Yao Ming did his first few season in america - get an interpreter. And then get comfortable speaking the language before you start conducting interviews in English.

and i am good at it now only because i was thrown into the public school 2 months after moving to US, without any help… ^.^

That actually was a lot better than I thought it would be. Even though his accent was pretty thick, he seemed to understand everything relatively well, and give coherent answers.
