H.O.T. (High Five of Teenagers) was a extremely popular five-member South Korean boy band of the late 1990s. The five-member boy band danced, played various instruments, sang, and rapped. H.O.T. enjoyed massive success, arguably the most success in KPOP History. They were formed by SM Entertainment in 1996, and consisted of Members: Kangta, Jang Woo Hyuk, Tony An, Moon Hee Jun, and Lee Jae Won. Lee Soo Man (Founder of SM Entertainment) was the brainchild of H.O.T. Seeing the success of the Backstreet Boys in the United States, he wanted to formulate something similar in Korea. The main audience of H.O.T. was teenage girls, but they also had some male fans & influenced hairstyles & fashion in Korea during the late 90's. Although some of their songs were cute ballads aimed at teenage girls, they also had some serious songs which dealt with political & social issues. Their record sales broke records & they had the biggest concerts in KPOP History. They won numerous awards and has/will influence Korean Music forever. They broke up in 2001 mainly because of financial issues with SM Entertainment. H.O.T. will forever be the gold standard in which all other KPOP boybands will be measured against. This is the music video for their hit single, We Are the Future.
