Utada. BoA has already failed. Utada is the only one getting radio play. Se7en is too busy partying to actual do anything. What was the point of being affiliated with allkpop?  As if the people here don’t already know he’s releasing in the US. Fail.

I would have to say Utada. She composes her own music and lyrics and has gotten more recognition and air play here than any of the other artists. I think I heard se7en’s song on the radio ONCE out of how many months? And Boa’s song too “I did it for love”, how many times have I heard that being played on the radio, so far none.

I think out of all those artists, Utada will be the best bet to do well in the states. Of course, I’m hoping they all do REALLY well. But if one can come out the strongest than the others, then that’s okay too, atleast it’s one rather than none.

i agreee, what the heck is boa doing all this time.. and se7en parties too much, well thats how you really promote songs down here in america : radios and shows. so se7en is actually doing well. and wondergirls have had concerts so they’re doing well too. and crown j… i duntknow.  utada is doing really well also. so its anyones game but i think ill root for se7en , he has that american feel.

BoA and Utada have been TRYING FOR YEARS, but nothing is happening. So i don’t think anything is going to happen now. I don’t think US don’t like those types that much,cause if you’re going to go solo, you have to be like Rihanna to do that. Crown J is just not a type of US, se7en looks like he’s more into partying and Wonder Girls would be too corny for US [But I still wish them success and I still love them].

And people heard more about Utada because she tried to be on us market for so long, that I can’t remember XD I still remember her “easy breezy” from 2004… And that was 5 years ago.
I wonder if Se7en could wait until 2013 to break through the us music industry aha ~~

Who the hell voted for Wonder Girls?  Are u f-ing kidding me? 
Boa’s ahead of everyone else in the poll right now. Her album isn’t that great and almost all of the songs are upbeat and techno-ish.  She’s had an okay amount of publicity too~. 

Utada’s album was pretty decent too and had a better variety of songs.  Utada can easily surpass Boa in this race with the right amount of publicity. 

Se7en needs better songs, and he needs to collaborate with the most popular artists right now (ie: Akon, NeYo, etc.)

Crown J is just…hmm.  He can rap and has some flow, but he needs to stop with his “A” gimmicks and crap.  He’s just going to be mocked and made fun of in the US. 

WonderGirls are blah.  Even though Boa still does have an accent and all, WonderGirls are a bit worse off with their Engrish (although Boa and Se7en both have some Engrish too).  And the idea of a girl group that’s poppy and crap just doesn’t appeal to the general American audience.  Sorry, but Cheetah Girls tried and failed, why would anyone think that WonderGirls would be able to make it to the US charts?

I’d say either BoA or Utada. BoA because she’s more into this poppy style that America’s eating up right now but Utada is Japanese…and well, they have more ground here with anime and manga.

utada, she’s already famous beecause of kingdom hearts and her song is getting crazy radio play. Next to her has to be se7en cause he’s hot, can sing, can dance, and he’s getting attention from the R&B and Hip-Hop community. Everyone else will sadly fail, mostly Crown J and wonder girls.

reason: Crown gay…i mean J is sucha wannabe that its not even funny. If americans can’t handle a white boy acting hood what makes you think they can handle an asian guy acting hood.

With wondergirls mhm kinda obvious they barely speak english and they lack in the dancing and singing department. The only way they could make it famous here with just a cute face would be if they sold their soul to disney, but i doubt they would go that road so um fail.

i see a lot of people think Boa will make it but from the interviews and performances that I see of her it seems like she’s very bored and tire….not enthusiastic or excited for her US debut…seems more like she’s being force to do it…plus boa looks older than 23 years old..lol..i thought she was older than Se7en…

Se7en and Utada, you know I love you. But Se7en, I haven’t seen much going on with you so I can’t say much. And Utada, sigh, I honestly feel like you’re just dicking around with the way your second album was done. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the songs but the arrangement… just the way everything was done ABOUT the album was disappointing.
And Wonder Girls, I love you. But I love you in Korea.

Wonder Girls will succeed first of coarse :x

Logically, Utada has the best chance out of all of them already.  MySpace promotion, real radio play, iTunes free video of the week - she just needs to get a little bit more of a push behind her, and repackage the album to catch more eyes.  Also, perform on Ellen.  She’d be MORE than welcome there.

After that, I think the Wonder Girls have the most potential.  Music history repeats itself, and we are due for another Spice Girls-style invasion; these are the girls who can make it happen.  They have a type of sound many in America don’t realize they’ve been dying to hear.  Any of my friends who don’t know kpop, who I’ve shown them, love them.  They’ve got appeal in all areas, and with the right PROMOTION, outside of just sites frequented by Asians, it WILL work.  They need to be shoved down this country’s collective throat like NSYNC was back in their day, and everything will go swimmingly.

BoA, as much as I love her, didn’t do something right.  The album wasn’t all-her…more Autotune than belting; more sex anthems than originality.  Don’t get me wrong, the girl has insane talent and potential, but the people pulling her strings didn’t take the right approach.  I can guarantee you that if she debuted over here with an English version of Eien, no crazy Autotune stunts, she’d be majorly famous here.  Maybe second time will be a charm.  BoA fighting, still.

Se7en needs a stronger thing than “Girls” to get him by.  And less JT comparisons.

Crown J is just a douchebag.  We already have 3 6 Mafia, we don’t need another one.

I’m rooting for Utada, shes my favorite artist becuase she really has talent (not that the others dont), but boA hasnt really done much. At most people have been saing look out for her, but about 5 months later there hasnt been much progress. Se7en is just floating around out there. I don’t think the US is ready for the Wonder Girls, their image wont really fit in here. I dont know what to say about Crown J. Utada has the biggest chance. In the US she affliated with a big record label, she has the talent, she’s fluent in the language, and she is getting some recognition

Anyone who votes for BoA or remotely thinks of her transitioning into the US to be a big hit, is probably missing some screws in her their heads. Out of all of these candidates, it’s quite obvious regardless of how you guys are voting in the polls, that Utada has the best chance. Before any of these Asians make it here, you’ll sure as hell see an Asian American making it big first. Out of all of them she has the most talent. And it’s not even about air play, the general audience recognizes her more than they would BoA, especially since BoA on concentrates on Cali…big deal all you’re gaining is more “asian” fans and not appealing to the masses.

I think Utada might have a a good chance this time, but I think BoA might make it first. She seems to have the good promotions and everything so…idk. Only time will tell.

As for Utada getting radio play, does anyone know if she’s been getting radio play in Chicago? Cuz I’ve given up on American radio XDD

I also have to say…WG better get the “Nobody” single out in good, full English by this summer, because if there’s no Rihanna/Lady GaGa/Pink/Britney/Xtina fuckery going around (which, if you look closely, there actually won’t be by post-June…sans GaGa) they’ll be in the perfect climate.  I hope “Nobody” does great, and comes out really soon.
