Where is 1Tym?
When is 1Tym coming back? That's what many netizens are asking themselves, eagerly awaiting the comeback of the original Big Bang. For those of you out of the loop, 1Tym was the original Big Bang - a 4 member hip hop group under YG Entertainment consisting of members Oh Jin Hwan, Teddy Park, Song Baek Kyoung, and Danny Im. Yes, I know Big Bang is 5 members, but you get the point.
1Tym debuted in 1998 and for many years were one of the more popular boy bands. About 3 years ago, they went on hiatus as member Oh Jin Hwan had to serve his 3 year mandatory military service. In the mean while, Baek Kyoung formed a temporary group called Moo Ga Dang (Sugarless). While Teddy and Danny moved back to where they grew up, California. Teddy and Danny focused primarily on the background scene for YG Entertainment (producing and writing songs). Se7en temporarily lived with them, to prepare and practice his English for his eventual American debut. Teddy and Danny would come to Korea and perform randomly with fellow YG Entertainment artists, mainly Big Bang. Teddy was also recently featured in Tae Yang's single, Prayer.
With Jin Hwan's discharge from the military nearing, netizens are now asking when or if 1Tym is coming back. Some are speculating that it'll be November 28, 2008 - which would be the 10th anniversary of 1Tym. While others are saying it should be some time in 2009. Either way, I hope they do return and return soon... They're the only ones at YG that made good music, besides Jinusean. They could teach Big Bad Bang a thing or two on how to make half decent music.
